Black Friday, what to know

For buyers:

  1. Do the homework BEFORE purchase. Example in google.com: "XXX reviews". If your gut telling you GTFO, than just do it.
  2. If you have target provider which you know provides good deals and acceptable performance - register and login before event start. You will save time if any flash deals pop-out.
  3. Always YAB dat shit out after purchase. Review disk speed, CPU steel and network quality. Cancel if anything rings the bell. Do not wait.
  4. Avoid crypto. It can't be charge backed. And on BF there is a lot of scams going on. Especially if you fail on step #1.
  5. Limit your greed. It is rarely profitable in hosting area to scalp.
  6. If provider is unknown for you, after purchase submit general inquiry ticket. Test support. If it rings the bell - cancel immediately. Respectable provider always provide answer within reasonable time at business days. ALWAYS.
  7. Read the crowd. If crowd says that X is good and Y is crap - don't waste your brain cells to think otherwise.

For sellers:

  1. If you are tough guy on the block, get your billing area performance tight. No slowness, no errors. Billing must work perfectly.
  2. Get your support agents. Give them Aderall, Concerta or whatever you have in your desk. They must work, and work fast. BF is the day where your reputation may fall or rise. And reputation is free powerful SEO.
  3. Stock those servers. Out of stock messages very disappointing for new customers.
  4. Don't forget existing customers. Don't do "only new sign ups" thing. Fuck that man. It is trivial to create new account nowadays.
  5. Test your promo codes. Test again. 2 out of 5 promo codes ends being incorrectly setup.
  6. Don't try to bank on BF. This event is pure marketing where you attract a lot of attention and build up your potential for the future. Better spend few dollars on customer directly than pumping into google's mouth.
  7. Don't be asshole by enforcing ridiculous buying rules. It is 2021, automation exist for a reason. Fraud prevention can be done tomorrow.

Brace your wallets, buy coffee and participate in one of the most craziest events on LET - the Black Friday. There is nothing more exciting than this!

Of course not, I love drama. I'm saying no scams to attract scammers to the scamless void they think will exist.

    Scamphysics sir

  • First thing I do is usually check when their domain was registered and if they have a terms of service and privacy policy.

  • Absolute dogshit. I've reported this post and requested a temp ban until December.

    Let's get this shit corrected.

    1. Do the homework BEFORE purchase. Example in google.com: "XXX reviews". If your gut telling you GTFO, than just do it.

Do no research. Having to think about the provider will only slow you down when it comes to the purchase and those seconds are critical.

    1. If you have target provider which you know provides good deals and acceptable performance - register and login before event start. You will save time if any flash deals pop-out.

The key of BF deals is to think outside the box. Limiting yourself to target providers is pointless.

    1. Always YAB dat shit out after purchase. Review disk speed, CPU steel and network quality. Cancel if anything rings the bell. Do not wait.

YABs'ing stuff right after you've bought something makes you one of many. Don't bother, the provider will be out of business in 6 months regardless.

    1. Avoid crypto. It can't be charge backed. And on BF there is a lot of scams going on. Especially if you fail on step #1.

Crypto is great, especially if you have plenty and you want to protect your identity as much as possible

    1. Limit your greed. It is rarely profitable in hosting area to scalp.

Go crazy. BF/CM is not about restraint.

    1. If provider is unknown for you, after purchase submit general inquiry ticket. Test support. If it rings the bell - cancel immediately. Respectable provider always provide answer within reasonable time at business days. ALWAYS.

Buy straight away or the deal is gone. Don't be that pussy who missed out because you were busy trying to get a response at the busiest time of year, or because on the busiest day of the year for the provider, you didn't get a quick response.

    1. Read the crowd. If crowd says that X is good and Y is crap - don't waste your brain cells to think otherwise.

Most other people are cunts, ignore them all. If you want it, buy it. What the fuck do they know. Nothing, that's what.

    For sellers:

    1. If you are tough guy on the block, get your billing area performance tight. No slowness, no errors. Billing must work perfectly.

But if you are not. tough guy, feel free to only have billing partially working, maybe have it flake out once every 5 purchases just to create a bit of buzz.

    1. Get your support agents. Give them Aderall, Concerta or whatever you have in your desk. They must work, and work fast. BF is the day where your reputation may fall or rise. And reputation is free powerful SEO.

Or don't bother, people are going to buy anyway.

    1. Stock those servers. Out of stock messages very disappointing for new customers.

Make sure you have enough stock for everyone, even if unsustainable.

    1. Don't forget existing customers. Don't do "only new sign ups" thing. Fuck that man. It is trivial to create new account nowadays.

Literally never happens, but yeah, sure!

    1. Test your promo codes. Test again. 2 out of 5 promo codes ends being incorrectly setup.

This is a scientifically researched statistic. Definitely not made up on the spot.

    1. Don't try to bank on BF. This event is pure marketing where you attract a lot of attention and build up your potential for the future. Better spend few dollars on customer directly than pumping into google's mouth.

BF is going to get you into the black, that is literally why it's called Black Friday. Go for it.

    1. Don't be asshole by enforcing ridiculous buying rules. It is 2021, automation exist for a reason. Fraud prevention can be done tomorrow.

You should definitely allow everyone in. That couldn't possibly go wrong.

That's what most people forget when it's BF. You buy this great 30$/y deal. It provides great value for the money. The provider is great. BUT you don't need this VPS. You might need it during the year for this project. You'll likely keep it idling: you'll have wasted these hard earned 30 bucks.

Better buy only what you need and avoid spending on what you might need: the money you'll have saved this way will likely make it possible to get the VPS that you really need when you'll need it.

  • FAT32FAT32 Administrator, Deal Compiler Extraordinaire

There will also be flash sale this year like last year! Stay tuned guys

To providers: Please submit more insane deals

Nope. The hit, the rush, the feeling of the purchase, or scoring the deal are irreplaceable. If you only turn up on BF intending to be sensible, I truly pity your wretched existence. You have never truly lived.

  • The recommendations of @LTniger are good, but he might have forgotten we need to idle our servers, and we also need to help new providers on the market by letting them have exposure.

So... Unsustainable dealz? There will be plenty of exposure.

@jbiloh are your preparing "kluster" for BF and attacks from mjj's?

No. @jbiloh and I couldn't agree on the fee.

  • MJJs have been busy all year coding their bots, set CF to paranoid mode and waste their efforts easily.

"We" as in "together" with a bit of gel and some perfumed candles from HostSolutions.

Even if you find good deal, you need to spend few ways latter to manage transfer projects to new server etc...

Indeed, sometimes one gets a good offer, but it does not worth the time to transfer data. Hence why we idle these offers, for that emergency moment when they are needed.

People do backups, including having backup servers idling until needed. Hopefully we won't need them, and they just keep idling, which is great. This means that everything works well and we get to see of our lives while some servers are idling like champs because there are no problems.
