Hetzner crossing the Atlantic: US DC (ASH) seems to be coming next week.

Seat reserved.

I think we can forget about BF this year with Hetzner announcing their first US DC next week.

Just wishing it's not only cloud but bare metal as well.

Hetzner became meh after the ip price change, and well they were always kinda meh bc of dmca and how they handle abuse.

  • And they start charge Taxes for sales in US?

The sudden roll out of a USA DC tells me that the price hike is them trying to force everyone doing cloud/etc out of their DC.

'Seat Reserved' - where can I find this?

  • E.g. look at www.hetzner.us and than at ash1-speed.hetzner.com and than look up Hetzner US llc.

Oh, sorry! I thought you meant there was some way to reserve access to deals or something

  • I wish there were :) Nothing found yet to get any pre-opening deals.

Seat reserved = waiting (as in cinema) for the show to start.

I want to know if it'll just be Cloud or Dedicated, but my guess will be Cloud only :(

  • Yes, no one wants the cloud - I'm waiting for bare metal/dedicated as well...

  • I'd consider hetz in us for bare metal.

    Thanked by 1OhJohn
  • I'd drop ovh for hetz in us for bare metal, like I've done in eu

  • Looking forward it. Hope Hetzner can give us some surprise ;)

  • Hetz creeping into the same direction as online.net. Eventually they will became standard, faceless and greedy.

  • @LTNiger, yes, I hope not. But I still see the company owner answering posts on their own board. So I still got some hope.

But truth is also: I don't care about ipv4 prices, e.g. as I don't do hosting or the like.

    So your feelings may differ.

  • Hetzner EU to US isnt that great, but it would be interesting giving the US a try if the pricing is similar. I figure they'll probably open up a different US company.

we will see if in their next move they will switch from creeping to running
