Sold out!?
yes
for the moment the vm will be suspended until next cycle.
cool 😎
Does this speed on the secondary drive look normal?
It seems a bit too slow.
in the empty node the results was =
+500 but like always when we sell storage all people is save data like crazy so you can wait 1-2 weeks to be in normal numbers.
I'm thinking that it might be cause by using virtio-block instead of virtio-scsi. Are you able to add that option in the control panel?
Also, in Proxmox/WHCMS, you are able to limit the per VM write/read speed. Maybe you can limit it to prevent abuse. I know other providers do use that option.
Because ~30MB/s is a bit too low.
Also, what is the RAID setup on these drives?
Have all of these VPS been delivered?
Definitely not
That seems completely at odds with what the QEMU blog states: https://www.qemu.org/2021/01/19/virtio-blk-scsi-configuration/
Is this based from your own experience?
I'm just following the best practices according to Proxmox official documentation.
I've always used virtio-scsi so I don't know how it compares to virtio-blk
Still waiting for provisioning
I'm getting kind of the "opposite".
I re-installed after the mention of network device change then set BBR and now I get
Thank you, but I've already reinstalled.
Just double checking - still looks good to me
What OS are you on? I updated to 20.04
Thank you for re-checking. I didn't touch anything, but it looks better now.
At least partially. (Checked twice before.) - I'm on Debian 10.
@BBTN make sure to enable bbr
https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-enable-tcp-bbr-to-improve-network-speed-on-linux/
Can you or @OsirisBlack post the fio benchmarks for the secondary disk?
I'm getting abysmal performance and want make sure I'm not the only one.
I really forgot about BBR. Thanks to both of you!!
I'd love to, but that's my next thing to be done. Added the drive within WHMCS,
but can't see it in Debian (neither after reboot).
holy... these speeds are insane, but im still waiting my vm ~.~
@BBTN
I found if you used IDE you had to Stop the VM then Start for the Drive to show - not reboot.
If I used Virtio it showed straight away.
You're my hero of the day, thanks again!
Running
mkfs.ext4 /dev/vda1
right now.the last 30 for delivery! Thanks all.
@cociu are you able to do something about the performance of the secondary drive?
I'm getting less than 15MB/s writes.
@fragpic for you:
@cociu thank you! After several years of mediocre HS-VMs this one seems to be quite nice.
This deserves some party GIFs. Show more appreciation for it!
When you say "last 30", are you talking about deploying the final 30 orders? Just double checking since it seems mine isn't active yet.
I'm getting less than 15MB/s writes.
like i have comment before , this always happen with the storage plan in the first days soo this will calm down in some days.
Okay, I can wait a few days but do you have a min assured speed?
yes ifi will see this shit continue frist what i willdo i willlimit the port speed and you will see how this improove. Because we just suspend 2 users who was make +5gbps constantly , i understand people is coping his data but the port is not dedicated for one vm.
Sorry the space .... my keyboard is fucked and i am out ... so this weekend working with this shit keyboard.
