@dustinc Are you doing any backups of VPS if anything goes wrong?
Vpses are non managed. Any risk associated with it comes at your own discretion.
I think he meant physical server. Like "what if physical node goes down?
Never ever trust provider to have backups - always have your own
Even if providers makes backup there are always questions: Will they be able to use it - not many people actually test backup restoration. Will it work? Will it take 5 days because it's 8715781785871875871587875178 TB of data or some strange filesystem or even the remote backup server is 10 Mbit/s and it will take 4 days just to download data. Or maybe provider backups data to different DC (!), but it's from the same "company" and when theirs WHMCS goes rouge and delete all services in DC1 it also deletes backup in DC2? So many variables, so many problems - have your own backup
Hi @Pepe, we have redundancy in place with our infrastructure such as Hardware RAID-10. This does help our end users in the event of a degraded array, allowing us to hot-swap (replace a failing drive) while the environment is live without dataloss.
While this provides an added layer of peace of mind, it is very important to note that this is not considered a backup. You'd want to implement backups, with the desired retentions.
This is important to do with any provider you host with.
hi @dustinc, if I have several RN VPSs in the same data center, will the bandwidth calculation count if those VPSs communicate with each other?
