You are only stressing yourself by counting every hour and day. :)

You're making it comfortable and very easy for yourself by saying we're the cause. You announced the ETA, you broke it (not just by a few days).. It might be a lowend priced product but it's still something people paid for so they demand information but what you provide is mostly a total mess. No email but going thru many posts here. You're refunding people who don't wish to wait, ok, but that's not why they bought it. When you're selling something you're responsible for it which also includes punctuality and informing but not in terms of maybe tomorrow, next week or if not then I'll give you another date just chill and wait for me. If this appears sluggish to customers I can totally understand it even if you consider the price. It doesn't make one feel like you're trying to get this sorted asap. Waiting isn't the problem, just how you're made to wait.

I think you misunderstood my tone in that quote. Wasn't meant to be rude, nor was I shifting blame anywhere. Sorry if it came off that way.

Any recommended setup for using storage box as source for Plex? I have plex running on a different VPs and want to mount the 10tb storage box so that Plex can read and play them. Tried with Sshfs and did not work properly. It keeps disconnecting at random times and I guess it’s because cpu is overloaded when multiple reads are done over ssh. Any thoughts? Would nfs work better?

You could try rclone mount (over whatever protocol takes your fancy) - the vfs layer is fantastic for this use case (media streaming from high latency storage)

This, let me try. Rclone mount with google drive works great.

Is this something that they need to enable first? I can't find this function on their support panel. Not like I wanted to use it already, just to know where to find it in case I need it. (I didn't want to open a ticket for this, they have enough already, maybe someone here knows where can I find it)

Has anyone else encountered an issue where the wrong ISO is mounted? I mounted debian-10.7.0-amd64-netinst.iso, shut down the server, waited a bit, then started the server again, and it actually booted into Clonezilla 🤔

There ara two debian-10 isos in the list with the same name. Use second one, it works. I've installed Debian10 from this ISO.

  • just came back to say that i received a reply on my ticket i opened on BF. Very kind and explaining that there was quite a lot to do, because the guys in here ordered too much :)

Got my upgrade in Amsterdam and couldn't be happier. Great price for a great service! Thanks @hosthatch and @Abdullah

  • Kindly if someone have a Windows Server 2019 ISO can work with this panel, send me the link
Because I tried so many ISO’s, even I uploaded mine without any luck , always I get something went wrong 😑.

You have at least the 8GB RAM machine? Not working on the 2GB one (also disk space). WinServ19 working fine, though not the best performance. Name your iso file something like ws19.iso or something, the extra long name of the official download could be an error though I have not tested this.

Yes I already have the VPS with 8GB Ram, but the problem is in ISO link.

?? Which link. Download WinServ19 from Microsoft to your computer and upload within your hosthatch panel to use with the desired VM.

Yes, download the windows image to your vps (not the one where you want to install windows), extract and add virtio drivers, repack and publish it and use IP+path to download it.

@hosthatch when the time comes, how can we upgrade our instances from the OP (non flash deals)? I guess via ticket, and that the first ticket is to check availability, and only after that we recharge our funds?

@TimboJones said: And again, many companies on this site explained the queue change on ticket updates. I agree, it's stupid (I've complained each time they'd reveal this) that doesn't change the fact they use those stupid systems.

FWIW, right after you mentioned about tickets moving back to the queue etc.. I tested “bumping” / updating my ticket which was unanswered for 5 days and I got a reply within a few hours.

    Coincidence? 🤔😀

    Yes.

LOL, ok if you say so 😊

I thought it would be good to get clarification from @HostHatch regarding this.

Based on their feedback, you're partially right about tickets being moved back to the end of the queue. Partially in the sense that it's not always the case as it also depends on what was updated/added in the ticket.

Yes, generally the ticket is moved to the end of the queue when it is responded to again and again. However in practice, this is not always the case as it depends on what is being said in the ticket. There is no hard rule on this, it comes down to what information you are adding to the ticket, and whether it is 10 times bumping the ticket, or a single additional response adding more useful information.

It is completely possible that you might have a ticket that is many hours/days old, and you submit a new ticket and get a faster response. However, note that a response is not a resolution and the resolution depends on what is inside the ticket. For example, your old ticket can be a complex issue that needs a lot of time to be spent on it and your new ticket is simply a request asking for the URL to a looking glass, which takes 10 seconds to reply to.

So in a nutshell, simply bumping it with junk won't get you attention but perhaps an informative update or a decent/polite one-liner inclusive of a "please" could however.

Also worth mentioning is that Emergency tickets are an exception, as they go straight to the top of the queue. Those found abusing this feature for non-emergency issues would generally get this feature disabled on their account.

Hope this information is beneficial for us all.

FYI, I don't know HostHatch's support and queue system, I was talking in general rule of thumb.

It doesn't sound like HostHatch actually has a queue order/priority system, it sounds like they review each ticket and then set priority after read and deal with it that way (triage).

Obviously, useful data should be added to a ticket, but "any updates?" isn't, really, and wouldn't change the response time based on what you quoted. Though, sounds like they really care about politeness if the word "please" was used (for the record, I was raised right and would typically say "please" as SOP) gets you a response that they'd otherwise skip for the time being.

I generated this ISO on my second hosthatch box and have used its public ip (internal didn't work for me) + https server to provide the iso. Distributing WinServ ISOs publicly isn't allowed as per MS terms (only if licensed). If you believe your iso is correct, I'd ask hosthatch support, maybe something is screwed up on your account.

Most important question that no-one have asked here yet...
@hosthatch when will we see updated server pictures on your facebook/twitter/somewhere? :)

Emil just flew to Amsterdam a couple hours ago to perform some maintenances, I will ask if he can take some pictures of our equipment in Equinix AM5.

(I mean they might all be photoshopped because we 'rent' dedicated servers according to some of the MIT trained mathematicians here, but will ask him anyway) :)

    @hosthatch did this happen? 🙂

@Unixfy Haven't bumped the ticket (paid upgrade order in Chicago) and have waited for 2 weeks patiently.

  • @Unixfy @Chocoweb
Waiting on a NY NVMe 16GB $60yr special. Maintaining polite customer status by not submitting any support tickets thus far in relation to this order. This is the way.

My Vienna one is still in finalizing progress, I've asked some friends who ordered Vienna during BF's flash sale, got the same information - all of them are still pending.

Maybe Abudllah will update the 3rd ETA soon :(

  • Have an upgrade (LA) still waiting but its ok. I see the plan was changed to new special plan (presumably that means its pre-allocated anyway?). But the vm itself still same and ticket on hold. But I'm in no hurry so will wait and not bother them. Happy for the sale/value/service.
