@VirMach bot went rouge, what is this :D

    $10/yr
    KVM - 1 GIGABIT
    384MB RAM
    1 vCORE
    5GB SSD (RAID 10)
    250GB BANDWIDTH
    DALLAS, TX LOCATION
    1 DEDICATED IPv4

    Shouldn't even be possible.

A VPS with 8 cores, 8GB RAM, 150GB drive, and 2TB @ 1Gbps in Seattle with Windows available for $12/year also shouldn't be possible...but it's going to be your next deal in 5 minutes, Right? o:)

We've been through this before. Someone asked for something similar for $8/year and virmach granted that wish, except it was 8 GB bandwidth

True, but I did raise the price to $12/year

Don't worry, a thousand other people already did it for you so we're going through those tickets and then we'll manually process them.

(edit) Actually, I have a better idea, we'll go through them manually and will skip it if they have a ticket open, until we can get to the ticket and see what they're requesting.

It sounds like an easier solution for you would be to leave everything as is and put the BW at 1.2TB o:) .

I'm kinda tempted to get one of the very cheap low-spec VirMach VPSes (one of those 10GB SSD ones) and try to run Windows 98 on it. 🤔 Not sure if it has the right drivers though.

@VirMach When are you adding Windows OS Templates ? I've bought Windows VPS and am on NY10GKVM109 in this occassion & can't find Windows Templates while 2019 Christmas Plan NYKVM23L, there I can find it. SolusVM panel isn't same ? I can't find the issue actually.

Anyone want to share their better deal price estimation algorithm for the tracker? :joy:

    https://virmach.fat32.top/

I've made some slight adjustments here and there. I couldn't stand the 100 GB Bandwidth plan sitting at the top spot in the top 10 list so I tweaked the settings a little bit to fix that. Now, it shows me the deals I want to see at the top.

    return (
      cpu * 0.5 +
      disk * 1.0 +
      ram * 0.010 +
      bandwidth * 0.020 +
      ip * 5 +
      (windows ? 2 : 0)
    ) * (location === Location.NY ? 0.5 : 1);

Never expose Win 98 to the internet. Always contain it in NAT :)
Unfortunately nested virt is not enabled on the VirMach VPSs.

  • why are all flash sales so low in hard disk space? most of them are coming out with 5GB ?

  • @pkamdar said: why are all flash sales so low in hard disk space? most of them are coming out with 5GB ?

You can't really oversell disk space in KVM like you can oversell RAM, CPU and Bandwidth.

    hello @VirMach

Apologies for spamming you here on the forum, but it's been a few days I messaged you and opened a ticket, so thought this might be the best chance to communicate with you.

While checking for new VPS to buy this year, I found my 2 old VPS with you now have different configuration.
One 15GB space changed to 5GB and another 20GB space to 5GB.

I opened a ticket for this: Ticket #836308
I got an initial response, and it is said that this is expected.

However, either I've not recieved this communication or if I have, I must've missed it.
Please understand that on a 5GB server, I am unable to do anything meaningful on the server.

My earnest request to you to please restore the original space of the servers.

    @VirMach
    still awaiting response to this
i think the hard disk space got reduced during some migration?
i am requesting you to please restore these to their original specs as that is what i have initially paid for

  • I tried again to place a new order and paid, but the bill was still unpaid. Since there are unfinished work orders, we can't start the work order again. What should I do now.

Search your email for "KVM lite". This change happened a year ago, give or take, I think.
When changing from openvz to KVM, the required storage space increased and giving everyone the maximum amount of space wasn't possible.

So a system was put in place to allocate enough space and then some for the amount you're actually using, which is less than 5GB, currently. And if you need more, there was a way to increase that in the panel. This was obviously a good idea, since you haven't used the service for over a year and you would have tied up 35GB of space instead of only 10GB.

Here is a comment from Virmach:

(edit) I want to provide a more specific example. If someone has 10GB disk space, and they're using 2GB, they'll end up getting around 5GB and can expand another 5GB to 10GB. If someone has 100GB disk space, and they're using 10GB, they'll end up getting around 15GB and can expand another 5GB to 20GB, and so on, until 100GB.

    a) i've not recieved this mail
    b) i don't have an option to increase the space in my control panel
    c) one of the 2 servers affected can't even run basic commands due to 0kb space left
    d) i am raising this as an issue now and haven't gotten any response after opening a ticket 8 days ago and waiting patiently for a response AND raising this on pm 3 days ago and not getting a response

  • I don't know why paypal is paid twice.
    I had same experience yesterday.
Yesterday $7 is paid twice (one for invocie, the other for credit)
Today $42 is paid twice (one for invoice, the other for credit)
    Is $42 refundable? @VirMach

You'll need to open a ticket for a Windows install. In the past, I think VirMach said Windows doesn't play nice with SolusVM Control Panel.
