Everyone is dead ?
Not dead yet (although Virmach is threatening to suspend my services).
Why ?
Well I made a payment for one of my yearly Virmach VPSs through Papal but I got billed twice for payment of the invoice. Not wanting to bother Virmach about that (and not knowing whether it was a problem on Virmach or Paypal's end) I notified Paypal of the error (they even have a 'double billing' choice in their menu for reporting problems), Paypal decided to pass the issue to Virmach and "opened a dispute" and now Virmach is threatening to suspend my services and charge me a $ 25. fee. I love Virmach, but customer service is probably not their strong point.
Sometimes it worth to escalated to in-house support.
I thought Virmach only sold VPS on Black Friday. You can buy them year round?!
We had to get rid of that, everyone was just spamming it so we have to recode it to be smarter. And it's not that we didn't mind doing them, people minded waiting.
Yeah, sorry, that's how it goes. I'd be more sympathetic if we didn't present an additional message before customers open disputes telling you to contact us instead.
I do not understand how opening a dispute on PayPal is considered not bothering us.
All the billing transactions have to be removed manually and punched in versus an automatic refund button. You also already most likely got auto credit from our system because that's all it can do if you overpay from PayPal yourself (for some reason PayPal doesn't prevent double payments on their end, it's absurd, but nothing we can do.) So then we have to manually deal with the credit part of it too, refer it, often have to check where it went, then we have to audit your whole account for other payments because we have to see what else is at risk of being disputes. We have to reply to the ticket generated with you, mark it off on our accounting manually/mark it as completed. We often have to argue with the customer and explain everything as well over and over as they debate us on the exact amount we should be charging or shouldn't be charging in each specific scenario.
When packages get that large it's pretty much dedicated at that point for it to work. And you're paying for RAID 10 SSD as well as E5's which just cost more even if you end up getting less processing power than a smaller dedicated server on your own.
So it's usually difficult to do actual "sales" on these because it'll cost more than our E3 special we have right now.
We decided against this for now. We still want to get OVZ's on here first (we have plenty of space reserved for this.) Amsterdam is unfortunately selling very quickly without a sale. We're not trying to be greedy or anything but it already costs more so the sale wouldn't be as exciting and we'd just have to deal with an influx of traffic we can't handle right now.
This was probably closest to reasonable. For Buffalo.
Do you want to know how much dedicated RAID 10 SSD space we have left over in Buffalo?
I was more referring to ask to flag the ticket to in-house as I never saw the button to escalate. To be honest, dealing with outsourced is sometimes really a paint. But I understand you need that to keep boat afloat.
I personally like deal in Buffalo.
We actually recently got rid of 80-90% or so of our outsourced support. And didn't replace them with anyone. Let's see how it goes. I think they mainly just frustrated customers.
Obligatory bus pic

I'm going to start going through the ID's we have so far and try to mix it up as much as possible. Prepare to be confused, saddened, underwhelmed, disappointed, or possibly very slightly happy. Prepare to be patient.
I didn't "open a dispute" so I didn't see any messages from VirMach on the issue.
Again, I didn't "open a dispute" I used PayPal's "report a problem with a payment" option on PayPal and one of the choices on that was "duplicate payment". I was under the impression PayPal could handle the issue on their own without involving you (since it was obviously a duplicate charge/payment for the one invoice).
That a big news. I hope thing go well. Maybe I got lucky, but my last ticket got solved in like two hours. Another with low priority got solved in 24 hours, fine for me too.
Hello everybody!
I need to replace an old OVZ server. Anyone idling a cheap KVM and want to transfer it to me?
Anyone got link to those new VirMach transfer rules which are a little laxed than old ones? I remember people were complaining about providing photo ID so they changed rules a little bit.
Can you show me what it looks like on your end? There is absolutely nothing stated for you to believe that you're doing that?
Never ever contact PayPal (fuckers), get everything done via contacting (the company) support.
I don't really want to go through the process again (I'm not sure it well let me repeat the process since I already went through it once) and I've closed the erroneously opened "dispute" (and related tickets) and don't want to risk creating another one. The duplicate payment (which was only for $10) is still showing as a "credit" on my account and assuming VirMach doesn't suspend my account I'm sure I'll be spending it in the next few months anyway.
P.S. Reminder to be sure "One Touch" is turned off on your PayPal account people (they keep trying to get you to enable it and sometimes they get you to fall for it).
PM me your account e-mail with us, I'll see if we can make an exception. If PayPal's actually doing that it's terrible but I believe it. They also allow double payments to go through in the first place on their website, and also don't do the best job at informing people of anything like that so I believe it.
Note to everyone else: this shouldn't be used as an excuse, always contact us first for payment issues.
This is why I didn't want to involve VirMach at all on the issue. I viewed it as a PayPal problem (they managed to charge me twice for a single payment attempt on a single provider invoice).
Have a couple. Specs / location / approx cost? Thnx
Hi, just confirming I don't think I received a private message from you. Unless you message that, it may be processed as normal.
My first post in dark mode, thanks to FAT32
Dark mode, sweet! And that's.....

But there's more... is that Buffalo? @uptime
Fucking Buffalo. I clicked like million times, no easter egg!
Is that how you get it to lay an egg?
It should be carrying some servers
