Anybody ordered?
I've learned that psychologically people get pissed off if something is reduced, even if they won't use it, if the last deal was really good/higher amount of those resources, even if the package is still a good deal.
This helps cool things off when a deal is too good and crashes billing. It's all basically the same but now people who missed out can actually get it if they're smart.

There's some truth in people being more interested in higher-spec offers. Last year I was picking up some 384 MB OVZ offers. Moving to KVM and a newer OS version means that my minimum now is 512 MB.
I'm more interested in location this year, as I'll stick with my 2GB stuff that I got last year in Buffalo.
Well the perspective being the billing site killing itself.
