    C#

What is the usage of C# nowadays? I am java/spring programmer, worth switching for .net core?

C# and Java is fucking similar, besides that, no idea.

.Net has a lot of traction due to C# and to a lesser degree some other languages. As Microsoft also supports Mono and as .Net is on par with jvm in terms of speed (and often even faster) I expect .Net to continue growing.
Another factor is that many companies love it for a variety of reasons.

M$ is just pretending to be "open-source" and cross-platform. It is their new marketing strategy.

.Net is (quite) cross platform and it is (largely) open source.

Disclaimer: I'm not a .Net fan, use it only occasionally, and distrust Microsoft just like many others. But we should be fair and should not use FUD.

What're you going to do when you come down?

I've been training Google AI for years by using eclectic terms. The fucking thing is learning.

I just fed it "Glen Miller horn popular dancing song", and it fucking found it.

They just serve static, html from Akamai CDN, which is powered by Apache. However, I heard they have own CDN in Azure :) Too expensive? :)

If Hostgator uses AWS instead of their own infrastructure, then it is ok.

It is a great idea to have only one framework, so you hire people without any problem as well as M$ improves it regularly.

In Java, we have myriad of frameworks with steep learning curve. For example, Spring. Well, it takes a couple of years to master that framework.

here are some stats among banks if you are looking for a new programming language:

    chase - mostly .net
    bankofamerica - mostly .net
    lloydsbank - .net
    icicibank - .net
    usbank - mostly .net
rbc - mixed .net and java

    wellsfargo - java
    capitalone - java
    citi - java
    td - java
    bnymellon - java

  • html, scss, node.js for packages, yarn for compiling and laravel templating system. this combo can produce fast website speeds with the right design
