    I needed this laugh. I grew up in Palm Springs, which is wayyy closer to the San Andreas fault line than Los Angeles, for 20 years. I have been through earthquakes, but nothing severe as the OP thinks. Movies are for entertainment.

    To also be real with everyone, there is no such thing as a natural disaster free area.

    I hope the OP got what he deserved.
