Looking for reliable uptime and network stability
Hello!
I have a Wordpress based website receiving some load peaks from time to time and Cloudlinux it's limiting the CPU frequently.
I'm looking for great system and network uptime, also fast support responses. What would you recommend? Which providers do you trust more? This time it doesn't matter the budget.
Want to know some specs? 2GB RAM and 35GB SSD probably. Unmanaged OVZ in USA.

If you're peaking higher CPU use, I'd suggest addressing that before looking at a new host.
It's on shared hosting currently. Caching system it's working but I think the CPU limits on the host are too low.
Also I'd like to have more options to backup everything with narrow intervals.
Linode or Digitalocean. These "cloud" based providers normally maintain a high uptime. Lightsail is also an option, though I haven't tried them yet.
A competitor of the website moved out from Linode because the network wasn't too good, but I can try.
DigitalOcean it's and option.
Hace you ever worked with Google Cloud?
You need some RamNode and/or SecureDragon... Great uptime, reliability, and support.
If budget is not an issue I would look for a KVM vps instead of openvz. I've had a server with DO that had over 2 years uptime before I dropped it, very stable.
If the lowest budget doesnt matter, spend a few more cents and go KVM/XEN not OVZ
Thanks guys!
Can you tell me how the uptime/reliability is related to the virtualization technology? Noob question.
Depends on how shitty the host is.
Ok, it could be KVM.
Anyone using Vapornode? This is hard to believe:
Keep in mind that these uptime percentages are relative to how often it gets checked and how many rechecks, timeout is configured.
+1 vote for DO, Vultr, Linode & GCP.
My one experience with VaporNode was poor. They had an emergency reboot of a host server (it happens, I get that) but my server was never restarted. My server was offline for more than 3 hours. I had to go into the control panel to start it.
When I asked them why my server wasn't automatically restarted after the host server reboot, this was the answer -
"To keep the server load down on boot up, we do not automatically start all the VPSs again by default."
So know that if they do an unannounced reboot of the host, you have to go click a button to bring your box back online.
@vapornode that is not good
@imok We provide an option in our control panel to have your VPS started on boot automatically.
Additionally, reboots are rare. There have been 0 in over a year.
Our uptime page shows stats from 5 minute check intervals and is absolutely accurate.
Let me know if you have any questions! We are more than willing to work with you.
Ordered a cloud package about an hour ago for testing
I hope activation does not take too long.
@imok You should be good to go!

But the smallest vm in this case.
I've had several OpenVZ VPS with RamNode for a couple of years. So far none of them have blinked.
I've been using a KVM VPS with @vapornode and they have been excellent so far so I'm sure you will be happy with the services
OVZ can be unstable now and then. I mean, more unstable than Xen or KVM, we had 1k days plus on Xen uptime, but OVZ is usually up to 500, some even below a year. KVM is somewhere inbetween.
Where'd you come up with these metrics? Left butt cheek, or right butt cheek?
An average of the nodes I see everyday. I dont see how your example invalidates my:
317<500 so?
The fact that the load is at zero is what I was noting- which explains the uptime. It really has more to do with how oversold OVZs generally are. My VPS sitting at Tragic are quite happy to have a handful of processes running as a backup NS/MX, and downtime has been nonexistent as it isn't oversold.
Overall, most OVZ based hosting is as stable as the users are limited to their allocated space/network/CPU.
Ramnode OVZ
You were right. Changed WP Super Cache and Cloudflare, and configured W3 Total Cache and BunnyCDN. The website is flying now in the same server.
Now what do I do with my new services? Lol
..porn?
Well, I agree idle servers are perhaps the most stable in the world, however, most of our customers do like to use them (what other providers consider abuse) we allow 100% CPU and even more as there is enough capacity in reserve especially on Biz/Pro plans.
Since we have a lot of people using the resources, a 24 threads server (OVerZold, since we are at it), looks like this:
Most load, up to 12-15, appears in the evening though, when the minecraft kids start their thing.
Damn those cheeky Minecraft kids!
More than enough memory at this load and very little iowait. Looks fine to me!
