Ordered a VPS 45 minutes ago, still has not been delivered. Have not even been sent an email.
€4.00 VPS SSD - Discover offer - Model 1 is a really good offer. Hope it is better than Leaseweb and digitalocean.
Ordered one to test.
their routing looks bad?
China -> london -> sg?
MaikoB How about BGP session for this VPS?
Quick Run
Geekbench

Single-Core Score: 4674This is strong CPU.
in OVH we trust
Now OVH just needs to throw their shitty control panel out the window and get something decent to make it perfect.
Error when ordering additional IP. Stuck at choosing IP location.
Anyone encountered the same error?
Waiting for public cloud...
...
Well, at least I expect the panel to "work."
Just successfully ordered additional SG IP address but can't move it to existing discovery VPS, which can only be in parking IPs. Guess I'll sleep and wait for it.
@MaikoB IP FO is paid monthly not setup fee only? Which means we need pay 2 eur per month?

If you paid via PayPal your order is manually confirmed by an OVH staff of the location (eg. OVH Canada) of the site you ordered on, or at least that's how it used to be done a while ago.
Credit/Debit card payment is instant if that's an option for you, once the order is confirmed you'll get the status page where you can see it's progress of being installed/setup and then you'll get the login email.
Yeah I'd put in a support ticket about the failover IP issues for SG VPSs.
Make sure to state the FO IP's location is Singapore as well.
I don't think OVH is going to move to something that isn't made in-house anytime soon unless Virtualizor or SolusVM gains their interest somehow, and then again they run their VMs on OpenStack which those commercial CPs don't integrate with. I personally never have had any issues with the OVH Manager but stuff like that has always been mixed amongst people, it seems it works for some or doesn't work for others. The manager is mainly a frontend for their API, so ideally someone could create their own OVH manager and just integrate it with https://ca.api.ovh.com/ if they so wanted to, which has been done with WHMCS addons.
You can make suggestions for the OVH manager which is read by the team that develops it here
I like their panel more than any other host who has multiple products really. The automation for dedicated mostly is more than any other provider.
This looks great, gonna order a few when the Sydney location comes.
See results similar to what's posted above. Not bad at all for a 100 Mbps connection.
@MaikoB, what's the best way to report suboptimal routing? I'm seeing packets take the long way around the world from my zappiehost VPS in NZ (185.99.132.0/23). Otherwise, looks pretty reasonable.
If its from Zappie, check with them.
Opened a ticket. Never hurts to look at it from both sides, though.
Would have looked at the routes on OVH's LG, but doesn't look like they've added SG to it yet.
Did it get delivered ? What's your order ID ?
Can you give me your order ID for the IP ? I'll check that. Should be setup fee then free.
Should be later this year.
SG -> NZ is not the best. If you need to have good latency to NZ, you have to take a server/vps in SYD.
You can open a ticket to your OVH Support to report non optimal routing.
Tested, it can load windows 7 with virtio-scsi driver.
is it a full 100mbps? I know with the Warsaw VPS SSD 1 the connection said it was 100mbps but sometimes it dropped as low as 50mbps or lower, I assume they got that fixed with those VMs
From OVH support:
is being resolved.
So additional IP address still needs some fix and they're looking into it.
@MaikoB PMed.
just order few hour ago.
pretty fast server indeed and have good routing from indonesia
just curious about ipv6.
is it have native / tunneled ipv6?
im having bad route on ipv6.
What I don't like about their panel is that it just feels buggy. The flag icons don't show up for any of the discovery offers, stuff just does not work most of the time, like RTM or the KVM console, the page scaling is far from optimal, the way in which they categorize stuff is not logical: VPS shows up under the "cloud" category on their website, but shows up under "dedicated" category on their control panel.
I have been with OVH for over 3 years now and owned a lot of dedicated servers and VPS's. These are just some of the complaints which I have gathered over my time with OVH.
Don't get me wrong: the products themselves are fine, never really had an issue with them (apart from them delivering a server with the wrong CPU 3 times in a row).
I think it's just setup fee.
However, somehow I can't seem to find the right way to associate (or "move") the IP to the VPS, and they become parked IPs.
It's only setup fee for the IP.
If you look closely on the order, you will it's the "installation" that need to be paid.
And yes, there is an issue at the moment on Additional IPs, they are working on it.
I opened a ticket and support confirmed it as an ongoing issue.
