Q re your ToS: "5.3 It is prohibited to use the farnoX servers to operate file sharing applications, to scan foreign IP networks or IP addresses, or to operate anonymization service output nodes. It is also prohibited to assign a different IP address than that communicated by farnoX"

so no VPN gateways or Tor relays?

  • farnoxfarnox Member

@mik997 No Tor relays or any kind of public VPN. If you only use it yourself, it's fine.

Your will receive your SSH root login after about 60 seconds.

    Not quite…
Got an email notification that it would take a little longer due to a backlog of orders, but 20 minutes is still within reason. They even automatically gave me 1€ of free credit as compensation for the delay.

Hardware performance seems decent, but I'm a little disappointed about the 100 Mbit/s network.

Thank you for your feedback! We are working on improving our network. Can you send me your server IP via PM?

Had a friendly conversation with @farnox: apparently they don't limit the individual VMs' port speed on the shared Gigabit uplink; I just happened to hit a bad time on an already busy node. They also seem to have some plans for upcoming improvements, but I'll leave it to them to announce those if/when they consider it appropriate.

Support-wise, they're definitely leaving a good impression so far. :)
