Anyone mind to do a TL;DR version? I really haven't stayed updated with all this...
@NickO: tl;dr, there's a ton of miscommunication and bad luck along side with anger and frustration making this into a huge drama piece.
That was like a tl;dr of a tl;dr. Thank you kind sir
Okay, I'm breaking my silence on the real deal, 1 week of the most horrible io I have ever seen... CVPS took a week to transfer me to a new node and now for the 2nd time, the new VPS is down for more about 4 hours each... @CVPS_Chris
Haha. Anybody that still goes along with anything Chris says deserves to be hosted with him, leave em too it.
I think Chris actually convinces himself of things sometimes.
@Chief's not going to out you is he, since the whole LEB network is in ColoCrossings possession. If he was up for that we could finally confirm that you ARE behind End of reality as well, but like i said, it wont happen.
@Risharde,
Its been a painful week yes, it will get better. Your patience is valued.
Regards,
Chris
Does this look like me?http://www.linkedin.com/in/robbyhicks
No, didnt think so.
@CVPS_Chris I bet that the next question will be something like: "Is @CVPS_Chris in fact @Chief?"
I'm getting my tin foil hat now...
Is @CVPS_Chris @Chief?
Lol, really?
Nah, @Chief is an Australian and they are much nicer people than the character named Chris here.
@rds, your the character
Im actually a really nice person, just all the tools here bring the asshole out in me.
I'm not an asshole to anyone but a handful or providers. Never have I been mean to a regular user. Shouldn't say stuff that isn't true ;-)
@Chief is a good student, I've been training him to be a cranky old man
@CVPS_Chris
Please please please read this:

Still no proper RFO?
Your behaviour before the "hack" contradicts that statement
Please please please read this:

I dont really care.
I missed the original End of Reality = Chicago VPS blow up. Reference? Please.
Aside from their plans resembling each other way too much, compare:

to:
http://chicagovps.net/openvz.html
What other land breaking info do we have that links the two companies. Was this the provider that had a pending offer on LEB that didn't meet the qualifications and a CVPS related entity contacted the admins and told them to push the offer?
@CVPS_Chris Well now I'm glad I've only ever given you $12, shame really. I used to like CVPS.
What is there to dislike about us? Because your believing the lies being spewed all over?
@CVPS_Chris No, I don't believe speculation (hence the reason I don't read newspapers). I just find that your attitude can come off arrogant at times which I don't appreciate.
Seriously, please consider checking your grammar and spelling before posting publicly/sending emails to customers; I don't think displaying English skills of an average 5th Grader radiates a professional image.
In no way, has WHMCS been effected from this, so no customer personal information such as credit cards, emails, etc. has been stolen. ChicagoVPS will also
be implementing a regular backup service for all OpenVZ products. We will start out in Chicago and work to Buffalo, then to LA. "
@serverbear - what does RFO stand for?
Reason for outage I believe. I dunno.
Yes it stands for Reason for Outage
@marcm
Time to learn how to google...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reason_For_Outage
//Edit: Damn, two smart asses faster than me... ;-)
@Amitz - Thanks, but I am not big on abbreviations or acronyms because sometimes people mean something else by them, while at other times they use general abbreviations. You just never know. By the way, did you notice that it's that time of the year when Wikipedia is asking for money? I think that this year the Mozilla Foundation should give them some of that sweet $300 million that they are getting every year from Google. They are spending that mostly on private jets, Macs, vehicles, conventions, you name it, but not on Firefox - just look at how poorly it is performing and still no 64 bit version in 2012.
@serverbear IIRC (if I recall correctly) @CVPS_Chris said that it was SolusVM that had a vulnerability in it that started all the problems. But honestly I haven't followed this thread comment for comment, so I don't really know.
He also said that he will give "soon" statement regaring this, that they will report vulnerability to Solus and similiar crap which as far as we know never happened. So @CVPS_Chris can you tell us more about this mysterious "SolusVM vulnerability" finally?
@Spirit - Someone with access to the SolusVM Master could have stolen the API key. I can only imagine the havoc that someone can create using the API key for the Master. While it is hard to admit that it could have been someone within the company, it is a plausible explanation. This is why I kept saying that people shouldn't jump all over @CVPS_Chris, because no one really knows what happened. Of course, this is all just assumption and speculation.
Soon is days not weeks, I cancelled one of our nodes there due to poor performance & I honestly am considering removing them from SB (we did send them a 13 new customers last month) - not informing customers is a total outrage (especially after making wild accusations about Solus).
