Apparently, Mountspot did reply here http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?p=7816778#post7816778
Just got ssh access to my vps.
Uptime showing as 55 days.
They just posted on WHT that they're looking for a BIN of $2500 on the whole venture.

Its up buy am switching to another provider.
he has asked for $2500 via wht within next 24 hours otherwise is selling to highest bidder.
All servers are back online. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Kevin, I personally emailed you. We had some bad time but will soon recover.
@mountspot are u selling or not?
That sales copy on WHT is setting off all sorts of bells for me.
A "reputed" web host? Are you a web host or not?
They're highlighting a PR1?
And if the domain with the Alexa score that's below 350k is the shudder mountspot one, must be a different base system as a 413k score.
my vps down again
Already submitted a ticket? don't spam!
It's probably just you. My VPS with them is fine so far.
Seems to be down - VPS and their website.
down again?!
mountspot.com / www.mountspot.com and my vps seem to be down here
I ask money return
Now 3 downs in 1 week
I think mouspot now closed
My rough guess would be that they didn't find a buyer and then simply aren't renew/pay hosting with their DC. Or there will appear new "owner" with promise that things will work perfectly from now on..? Any bets?
No care, get money. I lose money on 2 company, no want 3 loses.
I go linode, big money but no down down down
My bet is that they SUCK and I hope they will never get a customer anymore, in any business, in any universe... u_u
Well you remember what I thought of the domain name. I don't thinking sucking had anything to do with it.
LOL!
Now I need to delete that images of my mind u_u
Another day, another dead host. ;(
Im sorry about the positive but honest review i gave earlier.
Seem's such a shame, it was a decent vps ^_^
Just finished getting all my stuff redundant >< ~ Never going through that downtime / end again
Great!
what's your setup?
An invoice for my vps is due to be paid today, which I won't be paying.
Now I'll find out if invoice payment reminder emails are being sent out.
@bobinfo
Spent some time, whipped up some C to play watchdawg When master is down for more than 10 seconds, slave is put up, A records changed. When master is up again it checks for changes, rsync's | master<>master mysql - etc etc.
Its just web services + email + dns.
(Im unsure of any software solutions that exist that make this easy. Im just that nerd guy who codes up stuff to do tasks required.)
Seems to work a treat via testing. Now i just need some downtime on my NL node. friggen thing never dies!
An update for those of you who are unable to contact mountspot/ nor heard of em.
Posted a dispute for the month i had just paid for before it went down. I requested a refund, which was declined with the following reasons:
From Seller - Mountspot Limited09/12/2011 03:07 AEDT
Sir, we agree to what you are
saying but we are working to
fix this problem. If you allow
us and close the dispute, we
are gonna be soon up and
online. You will be
compensated completely.
Don't worry.
Any recommendations guys? Proceed with a dispute yeah ?
Why? Wouldn't it take a while to propagate anyway?
Who want to stay with a company like this? (despite if is going up again or not). I think a refund is what they MUST do.
Paypal no refund if you stop dipute
I lose my money with Donn Fry like this. he say i fix it stop dispute. I stop he take my money. Paypal say i close disput so no problem
Don't have time to ride this issue minute-by-minute or even day-by-day like some on this forum, but I can say that my Mountspot VPS has only been up a few days over the last month or so, so obviously it's not of use now.
All the quibbling and off-topic chatter makes it hard to follow this issue. The issue of provisioning in Asia is of great interest, but should be somwhere else.
Is there a concise statement that can summarize Mountspot's viability?
What alternatives are there to Mountspot? I've not been able to find a low-end provider in India as an alternative.
