Mmm, don't want to post this, but their site's been down for about 12 hours now. How's everyone's VPS's with them?

Ah, just ordered a custom VPS yesterday that hasn't been activated yet. Support Response Times seem to be slow as well.. Hmm.

  • Well they were considering selling up, i dont like to be a skeptic but theres a chance it could be over. Unless they host there SolusVM CP/Website on the same node that's down, which if they do thats just silly.

    Thanked by 1Infinity
  • oh.... sxit...
    i ordered 2 from them

  • Still appears to be down... Hmm... Anyone else affected by this?

  • I have been with mountspot for a few months, I can confirm my VPS and their site/panel being down.

  • @kro : How has your experience with them been?

  • Its been great, Dev is the go to guy for any issues, there is another user (Sorry for misspelling) Shibuke or something along those lines - seems to not be so up to date with the tech side of things.

All issues resolved quite quickly. Have had a bit of a delay getting all ports opened on my two ip addresses(I believe they have to get onto the datacenter peoples<-delay?)

As for VPS stability, up until about 3 weeks ago, i was experencing 2-3 hour periods of timeouts, half loaded pages(web wise and SSH wise) ~ atleast once a day. Figured someone was raping the node etc.
Seems to have sorted itself out last couple of weeks.

But overall its been a great service, friendly support. Same day ticket responses and always around 5MB/s +.

Anything else I could share my experience bud?

  • Oh and there has been one other time with downtime similar to this :)

  • Hmm, thanks for the review kro. I guess I'll place half a cent of my trust on them ;)

  • same here. my VPS node is down.... rather frustrating! its been almost 24hours ... anyone knows what it going on?

  • if it helps, they host their infra at http://www.ctrls.in/ datacenter which is up and running.

  • Yep, I realise it is hosted at the Ctrls datacenter based on traceroutes.

  • funny ... i did the same with their live chat and got similar non-related replies.

  • I checked and posts messages on mountspot's twitter and facebook walls but no into/updates on their downtime.

i am seriously considering switching my indian based VPS to hostgator.in.

  • Why do most live chat operators sound like a bot :)

  • They just handed out support number and email here, I've fired an email off to support@.

Will monitor it closely and report back accordingly.

  • And here we have it:

    Good Day Jason,

Kindly check with your service provide as their account has been temporarily deactivated due to non-payment related issue, we will be able to help you only if such request are send to us from your service providers provided their account should be in active mode.

  • I sneakly asked about recovering some files from my vps on their node :x

  • They are over, I guess.

  • Nice to see you guys taking the initiative to check these out! I'll probably give it till Monday / Tuesday and then maybe get a Paypal claim.

  • Damn. Do let me know if u r able to get access through crtls.in.

  • Checked their fbook page. According to a customer, mountspot said its a short circuit. Probably not true but means mountspot is not throwing in towel yet n is trying to resolve the "issue"

Well, people already confirmed it's payment related.

    Francisco

  • I would personally be embarrassed if I missed the payment, specially if I said it was something else as the underlying cause.

Regardless, if up within next day, ill continue to stick it out with em.

  • i emailed crtls.in asking if they can move my vps to theirs ... dont really mind paying. They replied n asked for my details/IP/logins etc. I just email my specs to em .... but not sure if they are able or is it even "ethically" possible :)

If they're willing to do it, I don't see what's wrong about it? The customer didn't pay for the server, and they own the server :).
