Skype is offline
Seems Skype is offline as of around 45 minutes ago.
Some of you may experience problems with Skype presence and may not see online. We have detected an issue with the status settings of Skype.
Affected users will not be able to change their status, their contacts will all show as offline and they will be unable to start Skype calls to them.
Instant messages are still being delivered as usual. The status issue also doesn't affect Skype for Web, which can be used to make calls and send instant messages.
We're working on a fix for this issue and hope to have an update for you soon. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused while we get this resolved.

Thought for moment something is blocking the connection
They make it sound like you just cant change your status, guess suppose that stops you coming "online", at least their skype to web is working. However slow (guess a larger amount of users suddenly)
Skype web also fails for me that its too busy to serve my request
It also seems to affect message deliverability, even skype web is slow in delivering messages
That might just be the fact there is suddenly a hell of alot of people on Skype Web..

Well it is affecting a lot of people and its not like Skype is offtopic since probably 95% of the users here use Skype to communicate.

I know so many companies that rely on Skype for their internal communication. I wonder how they communicate now after I told them to use something else like Jabber/XMPP.

Skype is a really horrible way to communicate these days, I don't understand why so many people are still using it.
We used Facebook white Skype was down.
Thing is HipChat for example which is great platform has more issues than Skype.
I think its the easiest way to communicate still though

I've been using Discord, even for some business messages and calls with clients, it's been working great, no delay at all (unless using 3G connection).

I had it back online about an hour ago, but it's off again.
Have been using Vipole in the meantime.
