Moving this to PM so we don't derail this anymore.

you know this all amounts to fraud, we can sugarcoat it & deem it is as almost acceptable business practice but its still a fraud, a long con.
Providers bait buyers into buying crazy offers and in doing so they justify the IP space to ARIN for the sake of selling the ipv4s to highest bidders who would otherwise not be able to obtain the ips so quickly.
We using one /24 from Crissic at our LA. We get confirm no price change or kicked out.
Thanks
Not yet
Hopefully we reached end game and US hosting will no longer be the crap it got to the last years and the prices will also become sustainable.

That's pretty much what I meant. Of course they want the customers, they just want them to be QuadraNet cloud/dedicated customers, not LowEnd Crissic customers.

I don't know if I agree with no second chances, screw ups do happen. No matter how big you get, or how reliable you try and be things can and do go wrong.
Maybe it's because I'm relatively new to the low end world but I'm paying bottom dollar, I don't exactly expect things to be 100% perfect 100% of the time.
Some people do, and that is a problem, expectations are not in line with the price and some hosts promise the impossible, playing along those expectations.
When we launched OVerZold, it was more like a joke and people understood it accordingly, only once a couple of months there is someone complaining about a reboot from tens of people on the node. Sometimes reboots even happen without anyone complaining, or they read in the announcements and dont open a ticket, perhaps.
That being said, OVerZold packs quite a punch for the price in terms of resources, we are not the cheapest anymore, but we upgraded already half of the servers to SSD, we do accept 100% load (4 for 4 cores) albeit are pretty harsh when people go above (not shutting down for 5, but we do for 8), so, if both parties have their expectations right, it can work.
That isn't even an arguable point unless you honestly think that Skylar planned this all along. Come on now. Even then it doesn't make sense because who has been cheated here? Who isn't getting what they paid for? What unlawful or deceptive gains have been made? If you got what you paid for, there was no deception. This is acquisition, this is Skylar getting a real job. This is not, in any way, fraud.
That's the kind of paranoid and unnecessary drama that likes to thrive here sometimes. Let it die.
You got your node rebooted?
A few pina coladas and I'm fine
(hehe)
To the naysayers: in capitalism, it's perfectly acceptable to run your company (even from day one) as best as you can with the goal or hope that a larger company will eventually make an attractive offer to buy your company. As long as you respect the laws, this is perfectly acceptable.
For the customers, of course, a transfer of ownership of a company will usually imply changes, sometimes not immediately but definitely sooner or later, and these changes may not always be positive. This is why it's good to have competition, so a customer can always have the option of going elsewhere.
Congrats to Skylar.
There are some crashes, detailed here:

look for overzold in title.
Eh?
Well, he's doing it again, somehow...
Maybe time for reliable host to take refugees??
It may not be possible at those prices, but it looks like people are migrating to ramnode already, so there may be no need to help anyone.
@mpkossen
I assume that Skylar meant the LEB industry.
There is no LEB industry. At most a niche of the hosting industry, and today there are many hosts which can be considered "LEB" based mostly on the company size and employees numbers, not really on prices which are quite normal for the resources offered and some offer big resources even.
I could assume that as well, though assumptions can be dangerous.
@Maounique
I was just trying to clarify how I understood Skylar's comment. :-) For otherwise, as @mpkossen pointed out, Skylar seems to be contradicting himself.
Indeed, "LEB industry" is speaking loosely, and I agree with what you said. At the same time, I think that we can agree that the hosting industry has a salient LEB niche, even if it's sometimes hard to decide whether a particular hosting company is LEB or not.
he's selling "porn" instead of polishing turds (reference to QN server-porn thread)
people say online.net and OVH are LEB hosts of sorts and could do in some criteria, today we are just a forum with no real focus, except on price and technology of hosting.
Puritans asking to put a cap on resources besides the price, those which wish to police out some companies due to unsustainable offers or other things will not succeed, at least I hope so, IMO, we are a hosting technology forum with a focus on price and affordable deals in a lot of fields.
Heck, who would have thought 5 years ago we will see dedicated servers for 2 Eur a month, or even 5? Or monsters with 32 GB RAM, TBs of storage and E3 cpus for 49$? If I were to say that 5 years ago, everyone would have asked to share my various imagined substances.
Some of the hosts of that time are still around, some thriving, proof the industry is alive, it is possible to survive at least, just not everyone makes it, the times when you could rent crapware and sell VPSes on it are long gone, which means this forum and others are doing their job without needing to turn into nannies.
I'm sure someone will be happy to offer some deals for those customers. Prices might be a bit higher though.
anyone need rescue yet? thought it was too early for that to be needed
@Bruce Are you saying you can price match against Crissic's plan?
Yeah that's what I meant. I'm obviously still "in the industry" working for QuadraNet, but I more or less mean I hold no desire to open and operate my own VPS company at any point going forward. Was my time to move on and up I suppose you could say.
@SkylarM, Wait you call to be an employee in QuadraNet a upgrade instead of running your own Business?
Seems like QuadraNet offered you a lot of money, howeve you find it quite funny at least in IRC when costumers are telling you that, what happend.
You should do the same campaign on ARIN as Crissic, maybe it helps
You ran a great service. Finding a provider with low prices and fast support is hard but you pulled it off quite well.
Will we see you on the front lines of QuadraNet?
depends on which plans, but for recent offers on OVZ/KVM, I'm looking for customers, so happy to offer some deals. which plans are you interested in?
