At this point, what's the difference? :)

Did you notice how CF<>Hetzner got slower the last few weeks? Dropped from about stable Gbit to 1/3rd on each side 100G* DECIX ports, now ask who uses that BW :)))

It's not so hard to overload specific peering ports with like here less than 30 servers; they likely will be upgraded (and we desperately need that BW) but until then....

Nope, it's just that some racks or rooms primarily at BHS2 apparently have overloaded connections, and that's a permanent situation so far, you can even check threads from the previous sales back in the summer. There were a lot of exactly the same complaints, e.g. see this thread starting from: https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/1774631/#Comment_1774631

Thanks, I asked OVH what is considered as "acceptable" tests to verify the issue and here is their reply:

We would first need to make a few verifications on the network side of things. High latency, packet loss or speed issues may all quickly be diagnosed with a few tests that will help us pinpoint the issue, or rule out some other hypothetical causes for the problem. If you are using Linux, they can be done through the terminal directly. If you’re using Windows, you can do the same tests once your server has been booted in Rescue Mode Pro. This will rule out disturbances from other processes that would normally use bandwidth. The results of the following tests is what we will need: -Results of a ping on your server. -Results of a traceroute (with MTR or WinMTR) from your local host to your server. -Results of a traceroute (with MTR or WinMTR) from your server to your local host. -iperf -c proof.ovh.ca -P 5 -r You can send us the results of the following command lines as well (or the files that the command lines will create): top -bn 1 > top.txt netstat -tunp > netstat.txt Send us all the results (and/or screenshots of the results) and we'll be able to investigate the matter. You can upload the screenshots to [1]https://plik.root.gg/#/.

I actually think these guys are pretty reasonable, the only thing is you have to do it the way they like/expect you to do, since at the end of the day they can't just take action base on the results from some random third-party scripts.

Several people have done that since summer, and as you can see still no change.

Someone got details on it from Oles, but that was over 2 months ago and it's still not fixed so..

Didn't know that part, I thought people were just running the speedtest script and sending them the results...

  • Anyone get one of those €5 Dedis from Fusa? The yearly term put me off, but at quarterly I would have molested it.

5Euro? Seems to start from 15 now, or I am looking at a wrong page https://fusa.is/offer/

Edit: NVM that. Saw they have LEB post just now.

Unfortunately the 5 Euro offer seems out of stock.

Fusa commented on the LEB post: "LEB listed this wrong only D01, AMD3 and AMD4 are in stock, not ATOM-1/AMD1"

@Nekki But there is a special code for quarterly payment on the other offers.

  • In Poland you can get any service at http://www.webh.pl/ and get 50% discount for first payment with code SHIN2016

    Found at https://shinsec.pl/porownanie-vps/

Really poor network speeds for those of us who got Kimsufis in BHS2. It seems to be limited to just BHS2, and from this tweet in September it seems Oles is aware of it, but no update in 2.5 months.

I'm seeing <20mbps download speeds externally (Internet-to-OVH) on basically every test, but full 100Mbps upload and internal bandwidth. The slow external downloads are full speed on my servers in BHS1, 4 & 5 - just the box in 2 has the issue. Others with the same issue:

Just wondering if you could find someone to get an update on the issue, any update would be much appreciated.

  • I got 2 of those special KS-3C time ago... 1 of them in BHS2 with poor network, after +20 tickets, tests and more they solve the issue, now I reach 10MB/sec in OVH and out of OVH network.
My advice, use and abuse support that's was my way.

I'm having this exact same issue and my KS-3C is in BHS1, so it's not just BHS2. I opened a ticket about it yesterday but they haven't replied to it yet.

  • So many comments and very few actual deals :(

Anyone know of a good Black Friday deal for a high end Dedi??

All this thing with the deals is like buying baby diapers. One never gets baby diapers normally but stocks a pile during the once-in-a-little-while deals :D

Yup, same thing here. I had a long chat with support and they told me they can't do anything about it because the problem is "upstream". Alas, I don't have the tickets anymore, they have been deleted. Still a good box for the price though at 10,99 ...

  • Same story with my Kimsufi in BHS2, terrible network speeds. But hey it was / is cheap.

The standard price is exactly the same - £25.50.

BTW, kimsufi users - does the KS send emails about incoming invoices? If yes - then why so many people on forums get their server dropped, because of forgotten payment?

    Dear Customer,

We would like to remind you about the near expiry date of your services at OVH.

Here is the list of your services:

Services expiring in less than 15 days' time:
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:
        Dedicated Server / 2016-12-04

    -----------------------------------------
Services expiring in less than 60 days' time:
    yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy:
        Dedicated Server / 2016-12-27

They send these at 30, 15, 7, 3 days before expiration, and it lists all servers you have and their expiration date. Dunno how you can miss renewing with that.

Because of these posts I was afraid I won't get any notification and just have to remember all the due dates. Thank you for specific answer!
