1gbps speed result
What should be the speedtest result of 1gbps port.
Is this acceptable?
Both up and down.
How to check the other test.
Comments
Yes, that's acceptable. You're not on 1Gbps guaranteed.
Yup that's about right. I've tried the speedtest.net script on loads of servers and I could never get the upload speed much more than 50mbit at best
I am on 1gbps guaranteed. How to check further.
@picy How much are you paying? Chances are it's shared.
Try that, quite a few network speed tests from several locations
i am paying 114$
Thats a very very low price for guaranteed. Are you able to share the marketing blurb for the service?
Yeah... is that monthly or yearly?
Monthly plans.

Who is your provider? That seems like a low price for a dedicated gigabit unless you are metered.
Yes I am metered. And I get 10tb for this plan.
I believe that isn't a dedicated line.
Download speeds are acceptable but the upload speeds are poor , I have been with leaseweb and they blast at 900mb+ both up and down

I assume you have a dedicated server?
Yes I am , This is what i get reply from support.

That port is not guaranteed. nevertheless speeds are not disastruos, but that price is unless you have a fat ass machine.
This is what the speed i got on 100mbps too. Then whats the difference between 100mbps and 1gbps?
Speedtest.net always shows way slow upload for my nodes, but when I'm transferring backups to a remote server at 110mb/s for some time, I really don't care what that script says. It's obviously flawed.
So how do i check the upload speed then? Is there any other easy way?
Upload to a remote server that has +1Gbit of download
There's an application that you can set up on two servers and push data across to measure speed. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me. Just a little console application. Someone help me out?
Of course for me I'm just using rsync and watching iftop.
iperf ?
netcat
@MiguelQ That's it, thanks.

1gbps is 1000mbps
Well... Thank you for the clarification?
Ok , I tried pushing it to another server and i got this result

Hey @picy, put up a 1GB file on a public web server and message me the link (so everyone doesn't try to hit it at once) and let me see if I can test a few locations for you. That'll test your upload where I know I have good download.
Ok , let me make the site done. I will be pm you the link.
