@ShalaWorks. Thanks will investigate them as a second South American PoP, that is really really cheap.

Try www.opencloud.cl is very cheap and works fine

    Hosted on Zam, absolute garbage.

Their DC, located in Curico, has a terrible connectivity and infrastructure.

Look for something in Santiago, Valparaiso or Viña. (https://ihosting.cl)

It is so ridiculously cheap, wow.

  • ihosting.cl and all their other brands (bluehosting.cl, boxhosting.cl, hostname.cl, and yes opencloud.cl - if you're looking at hosting in Chile, chances are you're looking at one of their brands) have the same poor network and uptime. We had lots of routing issues.

EDIS had no Spanish speaking staff since years now....

The DC is nice in general (power and cooling wise, also uplink availability) and i still enjoy working with them much.... packetloss happens mostly when your link is having capacity issues, either by shaping eg. by someone along the line not having enough CDR/commit for usage..... the iHosting website/IPs are rarely having loss, interesting, isn't it?

Someone replied in Spanish (100% sure) and yeah it was some years ago.
I recall the graaz or whatever map letter.
    Owner is G.K.
    Talked to him also.

Yea, EDIS had Spanish staff for some time when i worked there (Sergio), many years ago. I'm fairly sure i actually remember telling him what to write after english seemed to have no effect....

How do you get the idea iHosting/Andrés has anything to do with opencloud? It's not even the same DC or AS/upstream... it's in fact owned by some Asian in Chile, while iHosting and most others are locally owned.

OpenCloud confirmed it when I asked. Same company just marketing magic.

Maybe same owner... but not same DC or service, im sure of that.

iHosting.cl is located in Viña del Mar. (very good DC)

Hostname.cl is located in Santiago. (ok DC)

Opencloud.cl, bluhost.cl, rackeo.cl is located in Curico. (just awful...)

Adding to that, the only one with semi-decent international speeds is iHosting.

This is a relic. Needless to say no longer required.

We now operate with our own servers in Brazil.
