@Oliver did you choose the 20TB option?

And this is why we (the royal we) avoid OVH and Datashack etc for VPS hosting, you can be great at what you do but when the buck stops at a pile of shit all your years of experience mean nothing and your customers suffer.

Yes I did. It was the default option.

@AnthonySmith I am still optimistic... I mean I have had a few issues like this with other providers before and then after things have been up and going the service quality has been top notch. But yes; I acknowledge what you and Damian and a few others have said about them.

  • @Oliver: are you why a server with WSI was offline for 12 hours? :X

  • OliverOliver Member, Host Rep

    @Damian WSI? I don't know what you're referring to....

Yeah was clarified for me on IRC. :D

    I didn't do anything wrong; I promise!

What's with all the recent network problems at Datashack, this is the third time I have had a copy and paste response.

My experience with them (DS) is VERY patchy. Absolutely okay for a private project (especially at those prices), but I would never ever (repeat: NEVER EVER) use them for anything that 3rd party customers may rely on.

Seems decent as far as the benchmark.
    But the bad news?
Supposedly they use the Syba IOCrest RAID.

We use a couple different ones, but it would

    probably be a IOCrest SY-PC140037.

How can I see easily what RAID controller is in use?

    [root@dallas2 yum.repos.d]# lspci|grep -i sata
00:1f.2 SATA controller: Intel Corporation C600/X79 series chipset 6-Port SATA AHCI Controller (rev 06)
05:00.0 SATA controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9172 SATA 6Gb/s Controller (rev 11)
06:00.0 SATA controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9172 SATA 6Gb/s Controller (rev 11)
07:00.0 SATA controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9172 SATA 6Gb/s Controller (rev 11)
