Survey: Malaysia VPS

Guys, in advance this is not an offer. Please don't flame me ok.

We are finalizing a deal with our provider to get our server in Kuala Lumpur up. Just trying to do a price survey here.

Would you pay $10/Month for a VPS hosted in Malaysia with the specification below?

-KVM
1GB Ram
20GB HDD
1TB Traffic
Malaysia Data Center

Thanks,
Gigavest

Sure, but for malaysia local traffic

As I don't need such high RAM, I will grab one if:

    512MB, 10GB, 500GB bandwidth, $5/month, 50Mbps uplink.

  • Hmmm, Ive been given a IBM x3650M4 hardware. Setting it up the the data center right now. Too bad the isp could only allocate us maximum of 12ips. So i guess theres only 10 slots available. Ive got 100mbps uplink and 20mbps dedicated bandwidth.

12 IPs! Take one of them and do NAT VPS and I'll buy :)

  • I don't think he can last long tho.

    Hey, Thanks!

But too much trouble managing NAT in VPS hosting.

I'm planning to just sell 10 slots of the KVM VPS. 1 ipv4 each

    Dear Budi,

Sure we can, infact the provider gave us a very very good price on this server.

    Thanks,

  • We are trying to build our portfolio instead of making big bucks here.

That hasn't much to do with how long will you last.

I'm unaware if Malaysia is an expensive location, but you won't be able to advertise it here unless you provide a discount code that makes it $7 or less recurring.

But of course, you knew that because you read the rules.

  • In Malaysia, the Bandwidth is very expensive. At least the quality one. So good luck with your new venture.

  • I should be able to offer 512MB for $7

  • dailydaily Member

Perhaps a reduction in bandwidth but a higher allotment of RAM? A mix of the two? It has the potential to be a nice package.

  • Whos up for a test kvm box in Kuala Lumpur..please let me know here

    @gigavest Nice DC.

The only provider that offer LET pricing in Malaysia is @admsam with his Gigsgigscloud. Others are ridiculously expensive.

Fun fact, Exaybytes one of the top provider in Malaysia charge RM300(USD75+) for every OS reload on their VPS.

  • RIYADRIYAD Member, Patron Provider

Are you on a mission to post every day at LET ?

Any way , if you can sell 1gb ram and maybe a bit more internet speed at $7 , think would be great

  • If you want tester, I would like to be one, lol.

Youll be the first one. Since you already have an account with us. Ill add a VPS to your existing VPS control panel. :)

  • We have basically finalized our price points

    $7-512mb,50gb hdd, 1cpu, 100mbps uplink
    $10-1gb,100gb hdd,2cpu,100mbps uplink
    $18-2gb,250gb hdd,2cpu,100mbps uplink

    What do you guys think?

Yes and we are only selling 12 vms on this node.

in asia. most of isp are short of ip addresses. you should apply own ip at apnic.

  • zafouharzafouhar Veteran

    So 12 VM's x $7 each = $84/month

Looks like a deadpool for me!

FYI, the box only costs us RM350/month so we are not making any loss. And we are just trying to build our portfolio.
