  • with what? high tech location trackers and sattalite laz0rs?

  • let's just destroy the internet, problem solved

  • Viruses should be stopped too. If only.

  • And yet some people are signing the petition to make DDoS a legal way of protest. Do they not think of the providers who have to pay for bandwidth? :OO

  • World peace bro.

  • Do you guys even know who invented DDoS?

  • @Simple3x said: Do you guys even know who invented DDoS?

Duke Davidson of Dundee who played the bagpipes in front of the local pub, annoying everyone and eventually forcing the owner to sell Davidson's favourite whiskey again.

  • Lol......!

How exactly does rebooting a VPS help to DDoS?

  • @Simple3x said: Do you guys even know who invented DDoS?

Alexander Graham Bell. What an ass.

Maybe the AutoBoot is not about rebooting a vps but.... automatically finding who is paying for the DDoS attacks and automatically hires a booter to attack back :O

Outlaw Windows and you're 99% of the way to a Virus free world...

False. Everyone targets Windows machines because it's the most popular OS. If it's not Windows, it'd be some other OS.

  • 99% would still be valid

Why can't anyone fucking invent a tool or machine that can mitigate ddos attacks? You say its impossible, for the record- bill gates was able to invent the computer, steve jobs invented the iphones ipads and imacs, alexander grahambell the tellys, isaac newton for discovering gravity, and albert einstein for the light bulbs.

Now tell me, how the fuck can you say to me its impossible?!?

I think the webhosting industry is manipulated by webhosts that offers "ddos protected hosting"

    Why?

I think someone is preventing someone by paying someone not to release the something someone has invented that can migitage ddos's by another someone.

By preventing the release of that tool, webhosts that offer ddos protected hosting like staminus, buyvm, securedragon, koddos, etc. can live like a true millionaire by selling services x12 the profit.

    How?

A basic shared hosting package with 5gb space and 100gb bandwidth in average costs $2.

Now, a webhost that offers "ddos protected hosting" can earn x12 the profit and can sell a package like that for at LEAST $24.95

    X12!!!

Meditate, relax, quit playing dumb, open your eyes, and realize how this industry is manipulated.

There is such a tool. At's called AK47

Why are there viruses? Because there is profit in both viruses and antiviruses.
Why is there spam? Because there is profit in both spam and and spam filtering.
Why is there DoS? Because there is profit in both DoS and DoS protection.

They exist but you need to have the bandwidth to absorb it.

As much as our old Portland datacenter likes to think it's possible, you can't mitigate a 10Gbit attack with a 1Gbit port. You can issue a nullroute, sure, but that isn't mitigating.

The machines you speak of are very high sticker price because they know the companies offering the filtering also charge a very high sticker price.

    very wrong info.It was Edison

  • DDoS also means increased in bandwidth usage = reduction of bandwidth pricing overall. Sad but true.

  • @ftpit said: very wrong info.It was Edison

    It was also not Edison.

In addressing the question of who invented the incandescent lamp, historians Robert Friedel and Paul Israel list 22 inventors of incandescent lamps prior to Joseph Swan and Thomas Edison.

  • @Simple3x said: steve jobs invented the iphones ipads and imacs,

That is incorrect, Steve Jobs never invented anything at all.
He just stole everything at put it together and claim that its his.

    inb4 apple thread.

  • @Simple3x said "for the record- bill gates was able to invent the computer

Bill Gates didn't invent the personal computer. Bill Gates and Microsoft didn't even invent the DOS operating system that made them rich (it was purchased from another company). The first widely used personal computer, the Altair 8800 (powered by an Intel 8080 processor), was designed by Ed Roberts in 1975. The first computer with a mouse, keyboard, desktop, and GUI was actually designed by Xerox in 1973 (and Apple borrowed heavily from it when they introduced the Apple Lisa).
