That is a great news! welcome to India DO
@jarland when is your relocation?
Great news!
that's going to be a big market
That's awesome
Haha, was guessing to the launch of this when DO was hiring a Country Manager for India on it's Careers page. It's still there too! :P https://www.digitalocean.com/company/careers#india-country-manager
Welcome to India DO
Digital Indian Ocean
There is very low number of VPS customer in India. All other who use VPS in India are company owners who is not using VPS. They use dedicated server.
Bangalore - Did You Know?
What will @HostBD24 do now...
Ah but there's a lot of business to be had in India for various markets, and what better way to reach those customers than to have your content hosted right next to them for low latency, fast service
Excited as hell. I have settled down in Bangalore. Wondering if the ping would be lower than 50ms(SG)
You have seriously misjudged the customers numbers here ▲ the amount of people who would like to get a VPS is india is overwhelming not just Indian's but from around the world who just like to have a VPS from a firm like DO.
Every major startup from around the world and from INDIA will fill the DO's capacity soon than they can fill the nodes
Other than that I'm just hyped about the fact DO will have DC in INDIA
DO - Welcome to India! I am excited to hear this news!

Indian competitors aren't going to be happy.
Will be very interesting to see how the market evolves, because those are very big news.
Welcome to India DO. Going to spin a droplet tonight. Indian providers won't be happy with this at all. DO can expect attack on their network LOL.
As a whole, I think we're going to see a huge shift in India's role to the global economy over the next decade. I think it's exciting to jump into the market in the early days of that transition. It won't be much longer before people in the US stop seeing India as cheap labor to exploit, but will instead begin to see them as consumers in a booming economy.
Hey, how is the connectivity of DO India in the country? Thinking of migrating (my server) from Singapore to Bangalore, since 90% of my partners' websites' target audience is from India and the area surrounding there.
Ping is great to LKA. Around 120ms.
Holy hi-fiber sh!t.
now, THIS is a forward-thinking company doing something useful with all that VC cash.
kudos DO.
I'm glad my credit card is on file, even though they pulled all those yummy free credits.
everyone in India, could you post redacted traceroutes and ISP/connection-type to their BLR looking glass:

I'm on rubbish rural wimax.
Fuck SG now!
How is the ping like from SG?
Fixed. Don't need to be so rude about it lmao. I still use DO SG for some stuff.
it smells curry but it is tasty. might get myself back in DO soon.
edit: hurm maybe no. lol the latency is too damn high.
Spun up a VPS. Connectivity to US is bad - The freevps bench gets stuck at Softlayer TX.
Processor: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2650L v3 @ 1.80GHz
Tracerouted a few random IPs instead.
