About Hetzner
Hi guys,
Im really into buying one dedicated server from Hetzner!
I'm buying from their auction market (don't think that's a problem) and I want theire dedicated server to run traffic exchange.
I'm buy this one: http://s24.postimg.org/xq0uuraz9/Sem_T_tulo.png
Is it good for traffic exchange? After purchasing I'll buy aditional IPs to build multiple VPSs inside it.
Tell me what you think please!

No real idea about the "Traffic Exchange" part, but heard it is quite IO intensive - so keep that in mind.
Another thing to remind of: Hetzner with its "Flexipack" is not that cheap in terms of additional IPs, so keep an eye on the costs as long as you didn't already.
If you need more than 8 you need to get their "Flexi-Pack" which costs 15€ extra. (If they didn't change that)
Also, you get downgraded to 10MB/s when you use more that 20TB/month.
They recently changed it to allow you to get 6 IP's without a Flexi-Pack, so depends how many VM's you would require.
However stated above, depends how many IOPS's you require, them 3TB are normally fairly old and not the quickest.
@Bochi what do you mean about "but heard it is quite IO intensive"
If you plan to use it for virtualization (VPSs) then it would be better a Xeon processor rather than Core X.
@frecyboy really? you think TE can overcome that limit?
I don't know anything about TE, maybe ask @William, he usually knows everything,...
@adreamada really? what would you prefer:
The dedi that I posted above or a similar but with half the RAM (16GB) with Intel Xeon E3-1245?
@adreamada sorry, *Intel Xeon E3-1245V2
I'm not sure which traffic exchange is on your radar, but as far as I remember correctly all of the tools that were discussed around here are real "I/O killers". What means you need some beefy drive setup to be able to handle many instances.
If I had to choose between them I would personally go with the Intel Xeon E3-1245 for virtualization.
@Bochi sorry for my ignorance... what's
I/O ?
@andreamada E3-1245 or E3-1245V2?
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=I/O - sorry, I had to...
I/O = Input/Output action (traffic/disk in this case), E3-1245V2 is much better.

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/[email protected]+3.40GHz
Input & Output operations, we are talking disk here.
So the amount of read and write requests the application would require from the hard disks.
Well, I don't traffic is the odd factor in this equation - @AshleyUk got it.
@Bochi ahah ye sry xD
@AshleyUk @andreamada
So i should look for better what..?
Hetzner recently won the Technology Fast 50 award. Probably a safe bet.
Hetzner is Scam? :P
what?
That's just the usual joke, every time someone posts something that everyone knows/is useless.
Some time ago, there was a guy asking for almost everything with a "is scam?" behind it
@andreamada andas sry... um new at this... what should I do for virtualization?
What OS is the best for ir?
@frecyboy oh ahahah, u scared me mandaste!
What do you mean by TE exactly?
Traffic exchange
Any specific app you'd use for that traffic exchange? Like it's a website where people subscribe their url and get a link to their site on other sites as they link to another site on their own, with a way to count how much traffic is sent to make things somehow equal? Or is it a bot creating fake traffic or..?
oh, i guess depends mainly on network, hetzner is pretty good.
I'm sure there are cheaper providers you can find? Isn't Hetzner a little too high end for a traffic exchange?
