You don't remember the fake review of my company from that guy who got but hurt here?
Brave guy to put a yahoo.com address out there... I've heard Yahoo's spam filtering ranges from non-existent to barely there. :P
Their spam filtering is to block inbound email, all of it.
That's probably going to work out perfect then for that guy.
Yay, one crappy forum merged into another crappy forum.
lol how could you sell that forum..... and bandwidth!? what did it do over 1TB of bw/mo ? If bandwidth costs were that high he should have been able to monetize it.
It was probably on free hosting, which then wanted to charge.
Another fine example of probably some donation begger who was living off donations rather than running a real business.
Folks who beg for donations, take note.
Tim Liton <-Douchebag extraordinaire
My guess is that they were using some crappy VPS with only 50 GB bandwidth or something. With the DDoS attacks on their site, they must of went over and were charged overage fees.
Who cares though, Tim Liton was a dumbass.
New forum is really nice and user friendly however I like both forums(old and new)
@DewlanceVPS looks like one crap forum sold to another.
You like crap don't you?
Why you think a good community forum is crap?
dumbass lifecycle:
despite being told before people finally realize that their site is shit, solution: sell it to another dumbass where the story starts over
iWipo went from 20 forum posts to 5173 posts in a day.
I'm sure majority of it is either non-existent or is indeed... crap.
or they were scraping like some other forums are doing and creating posts with fake users from different forums. similar to this

This is scraped from
http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/s...eeds-Your-Help
Neither one of those links worked for me... how did you manage that.
@Corey Links fixed.
Second link is still 404 not found.

@Corey wow just not my day.
Shutdown because he couldn't handle the bandwidth from constant DDOS? Forums honestly don't use that much BW.
That is very true. I made a post about it on their forum and when I did the guy messaged me and was like "Why you be so mean to me? No law about fake post?" and then I got banned, so yeah.
After he put it behind cloudflare and moved host it worked fine.
But the thing is: he wasn't able to properly configure DNS (www went to old server, @ went to new server, filtered).
Becuase cloudflare is a proxy it passed the IP in a header, but he didn't know how to parse that header so his antiproxy plugin started yelling "Fake IP" to people who ended up everybody leaving.
That is my impression, nothing related to cost, just failure.
@24khost
We can do the same, let me pull up yahoo answers and Stackoverflow for some fun ;-)
Pretty sure all the stats about post counts on that site had been "massaged" to make it look busier/more active than it was.
I got spammed about the site via the contact form on my site by that Tim guy as well.
Welcome emails from the forum software will contain an IP. I recommend some kind of external SMTP to prevent this
@bamn
Good point there
At least they paid for the script
That's another argument.
Amazing that site was sold for 1 cent. Total rubbish they had over there. Fake reviews galore.
