Actually, in the U.S. when the RIAA was suing individuals for copyright infringement, there was a bit of stigma attached to being a target of that. There wasn't a pas de probleme attitude about it. Lots of people do care about IP rights here. Your vox populi, vox dei argument fails directly on premise.

@deadbeef It's an cleverly constructed commentary, no doubt. But if you analyze it carefully, it starts with the rather ridiculous policy goal of "building character", no wonder you get some odd outcomes from that.
