The email address I got this to, it's been years since I signed up with anything on it. Yay spam.
I got mail from these assholes too
If I'm not mistaken, 123Systems acquisition by CVPS happened after their last know DB leak.
Got the email also, never been a customer with weloveserver or cvps.
Been with 123system however. Then again, that email is used many places.
I got the crap too, of course into spam folder, thx gmail.
However, sometime ago i had active services with ChicagoVPS, but i cant track it directly down to them.
I need to use unique emails, eh.
oooooh it was in my gmail spam as well.
Never been with 123 systems, signed up with CVPS with that email around 18 ish months ago (best guess)
I never did use that email address for any other host, so either CVPS got hacked for the 4th? time and did not tell anyone or ex staff stole the database (just as bad) or CVPS sold the database of inactive customers (much worse).
Which is it @CVPS_Chris?
Edit: Intensenode's site and email servers are down now, covering tracks in progress no doubt
Got as well - Can't trace it 100% but it is the mail i also used at CVPS (never was 123systems customer and GVH was different mail account)
Got it over here, wasn't a client of CVPS but I think I had an account at 123Systems way back when they first started? I honestly can't remember.
For sure never had services at CVPS though.
Francisco
More likely hostdime nailed the box.
Francisco
or that...
Well as CVPS only people got it and 123systems only people got it, we can be pretty damn sure its just CVPS as the DB's were merged long ago.
I took over a CVPS account on August 2013 and changed it to use a sandbox email address. No other hosting providers use this address, and I do receive IntenseNode spam. I'm not sure but IIRC CVPS hacks were prior to August 2013; so unless there's unknown hack then it's just another CVPS "brand".
No doubt, CVPS. Got this (to spam dir) to both old emails I had associated with them.
Thanks, clowns.
I didn't get an email, I feel left out
... and @GoodHosting should too.
Well, I didn't get this email and weren't with GVH, CVPS or WLS (also not with 123sys or GoodHosting). Getting more likely it's the db of one of them, huh?
@Termiet Is it normal that it says "chigaco" in the headers?
The email address I got it on was not registered with anyone except CVPS. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it wasn't CVPS. But without him comfirming, we have no clue.
Same here. Through an eMail that was only used with CVPS years ago.
This is getting intense... node
i'msosorry
Got some email from them too... ever been cvps customer too.. emmm...
I'm getting these too. And guess what's funny about my main account? The only VPS provider that I bought using this email was the 75 cent VPS package from CVPS several months ago.
Pretty funny that the site is now completely gone. LET wins again.
Neat, the URI is broken in the Mail and there mailserver.
Everyone needs to create a ticket just to piss them off now.
They've shut up shop, so raising tickets will be awkward.
I got spammed by them, too. Probably got my email address from an ancient 123systems account. Did they really think they'd get customers signing up from spam? More like, how to destroy your business before it gets started.
Mission completed.
Summerhost successfully destroyed!
Can I suggest everyone copy pasts this until we get an answer?

On a related note i got a marketing email from a well known provider the other day, offering me to win some Asus tablet. I don't currently have any active services with that provider, though i was a customer in the past.
