$12,000.00 USD in DDR3-1600 ECC REG RAM - Pictures
I got this shipment 1 day ago, I thought it was really interesting and fun to see what approximately $12,000 USD in computer memory looked like and I thought a lot of you might enjoy it / find it curious too.
This is 8GB and 16GB DDR3-1600 ECC REG RAM from Kingston and Crucial.
The small 4x 8GB on top is DDR3-1600 ECC Unbuffered for an E3.

Amazing. How much RAM is there in total?
164 sticks in total
You order expensive RAM and they pack it like this? Which vendor did this?
Here the more expensive RAM sticks are sold with individual plastic boxes. Like the Kingston on your pictures.
Yeah even a 2GB DDR3 is sold in single plastic boxes.
swiftnode.com is kill
I cannot reach the webserver either. Now it works. I swear I tried 10 mins ago and it didn't.
Yeah seems to be fixed now
Have fun kiddies. You are so jealous that you SYN DDoS my web server? Take a second and realize how much of a loser that makes you.
it might have been better to invest the $12,000.00 into DDoS protection services.
Oh yeah, har har. Thumbs up to you bro
Are you cool yet?
you seem upset.
If you think about it, if doing so is the best they can do with their time - they're indeed losers.
And yet it's still... slow loading?
The images are no longer being hosted by my webserver, they are served via Imgur - so thats unrelated
Not really, no... you guys have fun tho thumbs up
Don't worry Chris. They're too many people on this forum of which are jel, it looks good man :-)
Down Here!
@adxn Down? Imgur?
People are DDoSing Imgur over pictures of RAM? hahahahaha
Whoops!!! I said "people", I meant babies.
:-) it is true.
lel NO! I mean @ItsChrisG websites are down including rijx.com!
Where do you live? Will you be popping out today?
Nice stack of ram. Maybe someone felt offended by the amount
Needs more denial of service attack protection.
I know that's not a lot, but I would recommend getting some anti-static gloves to save both your fingers and your RAM. I had to do a 512 stick upgrade a while back and the gloves were a godsend (people don't believe ESD can ruin sticks of RAM but I've experienced it and at $500+ per stick of RAM I wasn't taking any chances). I'd recommend getting a pack of Ansell Hyflex 11-100, they are pretty cheap and not only are they awesome for multi-hour long RAM installs/upgrades, they have some good grip to them and makes racking and stacking hardware much easier also. Also if you don't have time to wait to order gloves, another neat trick I learned was to put bandaids on your fingertips before you do the install. The bandaids will get torn to shreds but at least it's not your fingers.
Just some insight from somebody who's installed way to many sticks of RAM over the past 3 years.
@KuJoe you just need to ground your hands and do not wear synthetic clothes ... just touch back metal plate of a plugged server / pc around psu button and do upgrades dressed with cotton tisherd
I first opened my pc for upgrades in 1998 ... 16 to 32 MB and that was expensive for me back in that days..
PS Thats valid if your electric installation have grounding... EU continental has... never been to usa to know yours
Your problem if you can't deal with DDoS.
What's your opinion about those who do DDoS attacks?
