They actually loose online.net money so they don't offer them 24/7

  • Never.

Not sure they will be coming back buddy.

They can come back, but not at 2 Eur. I would guess more like 4-5.

  • Forget the kidechire. When will we see the ARM server offers?

You can get an invite to http://labs.online.net/ and use them for free for the time being.

More importantly, when will we see the end of people posting topics asking 'when are the kidechire's coming back' on a forum full of people who have no fucking idea when they're coming back, and 2 people who might know but won't say anything.

No, but others. And it normally meant: "Never". :-)
So, "when will we see the end of people..." -> Never.

CC proved otherwise. Soon™ just means 'several years later'.

Well, there is a good chance then that we will see the end of people posting stuff like this in "several years". Better than nothing!

^ Does the server crash often for you, or do you have some bandwidth shaping set up?

I find that the server tends to crash if you use the bandwidth a lot. Possibly something to do with the fact that the storage is network mounted.

I've 2 of those still lying around, let me know if you're interested in those :)

One of my two servers was locking up every couple of days, only a hard reboot via the panel helped. Finally I powered it down entirely, then started up again -- I believe this allocated a different physical server for me; after that, no more lock-ups whatsoever.

And the first one (the one which these stats are from) was rock-solid since beginning, 72 days uptime at the moment. 2nd one 40 days uptime.

It looks like they still have some hardware issues to iron out.

  • Any special deals will be announced here and on Twitter

Ah, maybe I should try that then. Thanks for the tip.

I've never "stopped" the server, only hard rebooted. I've noticed that I can easily get >30 days' uptime if I don't really use the network, but I run some torrents, it seems to fall over after a few days (I suppose it could be disk related too), requiring a hard restart to fix. Haven't experimented much with download rate limiting though.

Any idea how much those ARMs will cost? I dont want to use anything for free, that was only a 15 minutes test instance.
If they will be like the kidechires, 2-3 Eur, regular, not special offer, will be great.

Around 4 eur and they said soon since November 2014. Today is March. Soon is next year.

It can't realistically cost more than their own SCGen2 (5.99 EUR/month).

How do you even imagine there will be setup fee on a service where you can create/destroy your servers at any time, billed hourly?
