  • @Steven_F Thank you for the offer, I might just get another one! Are these VPS's fully managed?

Currently all BoltVM services are self managed.

  • What uptime guarantee?

    Is the download traffic counted?

Looking to use a vps to store my security home cameras video/pictures.

  • @doughnet said:

We don't have any SLA. Most months we have 100% uptime, but the occasional problem arises.

Yes, all traffic is counted. It resets on the first of every month.

The cached would be perfect for something like that.

  • new jersey here I come ;-) thanks for that offer...

  • Looks like someone is DDoSing our LA Lightning node which is our master. We'll get VPS deployed as quickly as possible.

  • Thanks for the offer, just got a NJ Thunder.

Welcome to the family! We're going to have to delay all deployments a bit, since our API IP is nulled due to inbound DDOS.

Ouch. Gotta hate the script kiddies.

It's worse when you realize it is probably the competition and that they have paying clients....

I've never understood why DDoSing competition is even a thing. Why don't they just spend the resources on bettering their services...

On topic: Are your cores dedicated or fair share? What's the maximum extended load allowed? (I didn't bother to read AUP I'm sorry. I'm lazy :( )

  • @Jonchun said:

Cores are not dedicated. Typically, load > 2 is a suspension or reboot, depending on how heavily the server is being utilized at that point. We're nicer about it when there's less usage. :P

    Thanked by 1Jonchun

I assume you open a ticket in that case explaining the issue, right?
Also, is single opt-in bulk email sending allowed?

  • @Traffic said:

We do open tickets, we're not savages!

If you get spam reports, it'll be a problem. Also, if you have too many SMTP connections, your VPS will be automatically suspended.

  • @Steven_F

Oh no. The regret. It's setting in. Why didn't I wait a few days? :(

    This is a self-debate that I think I'll lose

  • @samczsun said:

I'm not sure what you're saying, but if you're debating if you should get one or not, the answer is get six.

    Something went wrong here.

    OVZ Thunder (SSD-Cached) VPS - NJ - Thunder 2048 (njvm.wepwn.net)
    [Edit Configuration] [Remove] $84.00 USD
    Subtotal: $84.00 USD
$132.00 USD Recurring Discount: $84.00 USD
    Total Due Today: $0.00 USD

    So they are free?

  • @agoldenberg said:

I copied the product and forgot to update the pricing. I've fixed the privilege.

  • @agoldenberg

Not getting it. What did you do? Thunder 2048 doesn't go for $84

  • agoldenbergagoldenberg Member, Host Rep

@Steven_F so I just order again? I really want to order 2 of these! :D

@steven_f Haha. I gave in. I hesitated on the Thanksgiving round because you seemed certifiably insane with your offer.

    Order/payment was accepted.

Are you doing more screening before VPS provisioning?

Edit : never mind. Just Read the last offer thread.
Manual provisioning is not a bad idea for crazy deals.

  • for thunder LA will it in same node with your blackfriday deals?

  • @ByteFail said:

    Not at this time.

    @vimalware said:

Getting to them now, sorry about the wait. A mix of some script kiddie and the flu.

    @robohost said:

Yeah, we accidentally undersold the server, so we've had spare capacity there.

  • All Lightning VPS have been deployed. Thunder VPS will be deployed shortly.

Will there be any compensation for those affected by this? It's been nearly a day.

You're not billed for days leading up to the VPS deployment. Thunder should be deployed within 30 minutes or so.

OMG... how one can complain about that f*cking 0.05 $... sorry but I probably don't get it.

@Steven_F: nice service so far in New Jersey. this tends to be one of the best locations for low latency connections from europe... I get 9 hops <110ms to my home, looks very promising, hetzner <90ms, ovh <80ms - colocrossing isn't the worst after all ;-)

just did a quick benchmark for those interested in...
