o? When I tried it, my speed was always at exactly 10 mbit/s, which is enough to store backups. But if I needed to download my 10 TB backups it would take 3 months. :D

Not true; OVH/Hubic imposes a 10Mbit limit on the edge. Support confirmed this to me.

In that case I retract that they don't have a limit externally, But internally the speeds are allover the place.

  • I can also confirm the 10Mbit limit to Kimsufi, SoYouStart and OVH services. All tested.

This does fluctuate between 8MB and 22MB though.

Take a look at the graph: http://bencarrington.me/uploads/LfK.png

  • If it's a backup storage service, won't most people be uploading backups, and rarely downloading, so when someone does need to download their backups, the chances are the port won't be fully utilised? Unless you mean the service is for hosting videos, files, etc.

Its a storage service, you can effectively do what you want with the space. I guess you could lock it down somehow for backups only.
