Ghost Blog Alternatives (PHP or similar but no nodejs plz)
Was using ghost for personal blogging. Just blog as ghost says. I was happy. But now i think i should get a permanent system not some buggy or fast-variable-system like ghost. Is there any blog that can give me pleasure for only blogging ? Wordpress is heavy and it needs many things to tweak to work as ghost, need a theme. I would prefer a small+minimal blogging system. No tension with SEO. Obviously self hosted.

You could try Chyrp. It's pretty lightweight. If you just want a contained installation on your desktop to try out before deploying, you can use Bitnami
Looks good. No demo ... will try.
Demo: http://chyrp.net/demo/
Shows database error...
If you dont need a web interface, take a look at Textpress.
Blog with python, Pelican or Nicola. With PHP there is Nibbleblog very simple.
I think i will go with Nibbleblog. Its xml .... :O Cool... very much light. maybe a 32mb vps can run it !!!
I've heard good things about Anchor: http://anchorcms.com/
I was running it on LES 64mb no swap VPS, but I think 32mb should be ok too.
I have larger one , so no problem. Will try some tweaking before running/migrating my blog...
It needs database... ok. Will see. Thanks.
My website that I set up with chyrp (I customised the template quite a bit so it's just a homepage with a fancy CMS).
It's really mobile friendly and to my happy surprise it shows you the exact queries it does and the time (0.07 average without any caching).
Your website is just a landing page .... ?
Yep, I said that. It uses that backend CMS with a custom template though
AnchorCMS
I have to test all that you guys mentioned.... tried nibble.... It seems very light. Good one. Will see others and then will decide.
Self promotion here
try HTMLy, I run the blog on CPU 222 Mhz, 128MB RAM and its fine.
Your site is down for me
Using DelimiterVPS atom $5/month and very rarely checking it
try this blog for demo or github.
DotClear is simple and light. dotclear.org
Thank you for sharing the github link.
Have you looked at Jekyll?
Extremely customizable, extrodinarily fast to compile and all posts are made in markdown format. A good example is DreamHost recently switched from WordPress to Jekyll after their site redesign. And that says a lot considering they hired the maker of WordPress as their lead engineer.
If you are interested in static blogs, I highly recommend sculpin.io
Like Jekyll, you write your post in Markdown and run a script to upload your blog. Everything will be static HTML so no lag whatsoever.
GetSimple also might be an alternative.
I tried jekyll, hyde, pelican and various static html generators, and settled down at nanoc.
www.nanoc.ws ..........
If you are willing to spend small amount of $$ I would recommend to look at Kirby
maybe that dollars will give me a good system but i will stick with free...
http://picocms.org/ or http://croogo.org/
HTMLy is good... fast, easy setup and crisp. All what you need for a simple blog.
