Socks Proxy Exchange

kristalkristal Banned
edited September 2011 in General

Ive read many posts that You are using Your LEB for gaming related stuff, so am i, and at the moment i could use some socks proxies for sole use of running bots (2-3 connections max).

If you are already running proxy, great, if not: setting up proxy on your LEB would cost You max 3-4mb then why not do it and exchange with me ? :)

Interested personnas please message me :)

    No. Stop breaking ToS everywhere.

  • @justinb Care to drop a hint as to who this is so providers can keep an eye out for them? :)

  • whats wrong with that? and whats tos?

    what did i do ?

  • most providers only allow proxies for private use, not public or semi-public like that.

And would I hell allow a stranger on the internet to proxy through me, and potentially get me/my IP in trouble.

  • ok ok ok im sorry then lol topic closed :P

Just curious, isn't that is how Tor project works?

  • Just curious, isn't that is how Tor project works?

Exactly. You're taking the risk of legal liability for the actions unknown strangers commit using your IP.

That, and the fact that he wants to use it for game hacking/exploiting/botting

  • Botting isn't hacking/exploiting, I guess :P Maybe a kind of cheat.

  • Just curious, isn't that is how Tor project works?

Yes but even I don't allow Tor on my servers. Actually block a lot of their end nodes when I find out about them.

If anyone knows of how to generate a list of those end nodes....

    http://torstatus.blutmagie.de/ip_list_all.php/Tor_ip_list_ALL.csv

    Already have them blocked here

  • @justinb: "she" and not hacking/exploiting, just botting.

    lets try tor :)

  • Thats basically me saying.

Hey! Set me up a user on your computer so I can login whenever I want, I promise i'll be good!

Tor only works w/TCP games and usually blacklisted already.
I know I had them all banned while I was at Nexon.

Its actually possible to stuff anything down Tor with Tsocks.

  • yeah tor works, but i need like 10 proxies or more i thought i could just !exchange! with someone, doh, i dont keep much info on my leb so w/e...

are the times really that dangerous and we shouldnt trust anyone ?

It's not the info theft. It's the "you are responsible for everything from your IP - no matter what"

Also, when you're blatantly asking for htem to do illegal things..

  • I guess this could work when restricting the socks proxy in a way that ONLY the IPs + Ports of the gameservers can be accessed by it. Along with a proper logging that should be a legal and secure setup.

  • botting is illegal u say? oh come on :)

  • Not illegal, but dickish for sure. People play online to have fun, and it's no fun when someone's cheating.

  • kristal said: botting is illegal u say? oh come on :)

I'd love to give out my IPs to someone that has a penchant for violating and breaking ToS, because they obviously are legitimate.

    Fuck off.

  • @kylix "Exactly. You're taking the risk of legal liability for the actions unknown strangers commit using your IP.

in which country? here in germany is different. you are not responsible for action done through tor.

    @drmike
where do you block tor? on forum? or generally on your webserver? just email? or maybe just payments? in my eyes blocking tor for anything except for orders and payments is definitely not ok.

  • @justinb thanks. I'll look at it when I can open up a csv file.

When ever I used Tor, before the library got wise about that, I always got dropped in Germany. That didn't work for me as most "security" sites block Germany for whatever reason.

@komo Some of the social network sites (ie elgg, wpmu, etc.) that we host had a run in with some child porn rings. Some of those folks came in via IP addresses that we later discovered to be Tor end nodes. Also considering most of my client base is "soccer moms" they're not going to be using Tor. At least not normally.

We um have a way to get around blocks anyway that we pass along to those in need.

You can tell Tor which exit node to use and thereby choose your country.

  • shrug That's nice. Too bad the basic instructions for using Tor (as well as @gsrdgrdghd) didn't cover that.

Moot anyway. Tor got blocked by the library's It department shortly after I started using it.

  • And how it got blocked? o_O

@komo: I really doubt that because some friends from Germany recently told me that there has been some house searching and you have the liability for disturbance.

  • tor is still something unknown to many police "specialists" and there were some cases of house searching but situations changed in the last few months. and german privacy foundation has a partner program which takes legal responsibility from exit nodes. all things considered situation is getting better.

  • Such or rather similar initiatives as op suggested aren't popular among vps hosts sales departments for sure but some LEB/LET regulars would advantage from them if they would be able to agree, arrange... Well, maybe not for proxies (this is really risky "business") , I am speaking in general considering how much of us have same boxes often even on same nodes doing nothing.

And personal usage.. what's personal usage anyway? It's not like giving IRC bouncher on vps which doing most of the time nothing to friend or family member would be public/reselling/offering service to third parties anyway. Beside that hosts don't demand personal usage for every possible service vps could offer. I don't mind to host some of my friend site here and there if he/she need to. And now there are guys which I meet here every day, read their posts, learn about their way of thinking... some of them I like, some of them I don't... but generally many people here become known part of this community.

btw: problem solved by purchasing additional ips for my leb :) 20 of them.

now i can, as some "experts" stated: "break law" (lol!) and perform all the "illegal action" (lol! botting) and "break ToS" in peace (lol!!!), under my name all of it, yeah.

    JERK!
