I actually would be very interesting in buying a London Linode LES, since I'm only using it for VPN anyway. I'd value better peering more than performance.
I will only ever nest as a last resort in rare locations.

Linode Japan have "local" APNIC IPv4 and Vultr Japan "american" ARIN IPv4 address, correct? How's with IPv6?

I belive that is correct, not sure how they are allowed to use them in Japan but ho hum, they assign a /64 block on request now.
I will drop a ticket in about the geo location, that may be a spanner that forces linode and beta test fail.

Linode IPs:
Proper APNIC. Even if you get e.g. MaxMind to update their geolocation for Vultr, it'll be months and years before various sites get "convinced" you are really JP now. And in cases of some, that might not even happen at all.
I suppose I could, to be honest once Japan is up I will have reached the initial goal of 5 locations and that is as far as I wanted to go initially, the next phase is developing the backend service a little more and the custom panel written specifically for LES to include the haproxy functions, HA and application installers, linking it up with cloudflare using the API for IP6 <-> IP4 translation etc.
There is a very good chance of a 6th location in a much requested country through a partnership with another host in the coming weeks but that is not guaranteed as yet so I wont say to much about that
