Currently am using 92% of the disk on my RBX box which means 92% disk usage on my BHS box. I don't like the idea of storing additional content on the BHS box as it creates the possibility that there won't be enough storage to sync all of the RBX content.

I have an old kimsufi and installed server 2012 with OVH's installer, what's the best way to change to windows 7?

  • hotsnowhotsnow Veteran

already 66 hours passed, still not got delivered, shown as "Setup fee *001 In progress" :(

Some scripts were posted earlier in this thread but if you want to be lazy like me you can just use this site - instant email notifications, works like a charm: http://kimi.nwwebsites.co.uk/

Yeah I'm using that now but my gmail marks it as spam so I'm always too late. What are these other scripts that you may talk of?

Here is the interesting part...my previous order has not come in yet (the one that was in the same batch as yours), but I placed another order this morning to try my luck and I got my server after an hour...

You bought the ks1 or ks2.. What you gonna do with so many of them.

    All KS1s.

One as a remote work station + Crashplan backup storage, one for some scripts that I run to grab some data for my own analysis (not website/IT related), one as a torrent box (private), the one I am waiting for will be the dump ground for my wanted to develop but never went alive projects...last one I bought this morning will be used as a storage for photos and videos.

BHS hasn't been in stock since the 25th. Everything since then has been RBX and/or GRA.

that's why I edited my answer

  • I think i will get several i3 boxes to replace all my VPS's. What a shame you can't add extra disks or IP's, I think they should use a SAN/SCSI thing like delimiter do for their $5 atom.

  • edanedan Member

Finally my account has been validated and snap the KS-2.

Why not just get one SoYouStart (the 30 EUR one)...

linuxthefish said: I think they should use a SAN/SCSI thing

No they should not. People buy dedicated servers to use dedicated resources, not share some crappy SAN with hundreds of others. Also SAN setups have a terrible reputation across the board (well maybe it's just those companies "doing them wrong"). A physical disk typically just works (until it fails), but a SAN can be flaky all the time, sometimes disappearing, going read-only, etc. I think I read some complaints about that regarding Delimiter's one too.

  • If the OVH SANs are as "awesome" as their classic VPS ... I'd rather not. :)

no, only when the BHS restock, my previous order can be processed...

You might need to wait a while, today (July 1) is the Canada Day (national day in Canada), and July 4 is Independence Day (national day in US, if they have any shipment coming from US it would be delayed).

damn... received an email from ovh just now, the same mistake happened again?

    Dear Customer,

I send you this mail to inform you that you order for a KS-1 server in Canada is not unfortunately practicable.

Indeed, it was an error of display on the site, these servers are not at present available in Canada.

We can refund the order to make a new one with Datacentre in France.

  • That sucks! Probably going to take a while until they restock.

the email is directly from [email protected], not from OVH, I don't know which side have fault. :(

  • OMG!

Just extended my server by a month, got an email from OVH that i need to send my ID plus proof of address in -.-
