GVH upgrades (also offer of free file hosting)
My VPS with GVH is down. Support responded with a message to say they were upgrading the node. Nice to hear, but would have been nice to have been notified before it happened.
Anyone else on that node - ny3?
I'm not currently using any of my 73TB usage allowance. If anyone has a need for some free file hosting I'm happy to help out. I'd like to know how much of that usage is actually usable. Rather than just downloading test files, I'd prefer to put it to good use. Will be available until I have the need for the usage myself

We had similar experience with them,they need to be more matured and professional... Cancelled and saved headache, they have a long learning curve in front of them. Once they learn they can do better...

Bad idea IMO. People will just abuse it and then you'll get cancelled and then we'll have to read all about it here.
i try monitoring the server from them, i paid yearly and do nothing with it except monitoring it. And every 12 hours the VPS is down and no response
yeah, I'm not offering a free-for-all. needs to be something useful, like storage for an open source project. that kind of stuff.

Reliable storage for an opensource project can be had at places like Github or Google code, or on a $15/year VPS from a reliable provider. No one in their right mind would trust GVH through a third party (you) with valuable code. Offers with hugh bandwith and storage from unreliable providers are for storing/streaming your personal porn collection.

Oh, I was afraid. I have a VPS with them with 290 GB of Space & 30 TB Transit. I have already used 150 GB+ Space
73TB of transit, holy hell! What would anyone use all that for?
I have two with them currently. One is being used for a vpn witha bout 3TB of bandwidth used (Out of 20TB). The other has a webserver and is using about 200GB of the 250GB of diskspace.

NY3 was one of our first nodes running a horrible configuration. We had planned to run a smooth data transfer migration to an upgraded server and then have CC re-route the IP blocks, however we had to temporarily shut off VMs because at the rate the migration was going at, it would have taken days. Clients that have been affected by this are eligible to request compensation.
Please allow me to correct this. Every "12 hours" you get suspended for abuse. Our abuse department does not work 24x7 so you receive a delayed response. Please refrain from further slander.

@greenvaluehost eventually got better. I will say that bandwidth has always been good considering the amounts they are offering

Hosting some ISO, ZIP, TAR of a project output, not source files. No point if the bandwidth isn't needed. Anyway, I was just trying to be helpful to someone who might need some resource. If not, then so be it.
I'd be interested to know what "abuse" means to GVH. I've run serverbear a couple of times. Is that considered abuse as it will max the CPU ? My VPS died in the middle of doing so once. Was that because GVH techs killed it? Some info on what can/can't be done would be nice. I'm certainly not doing anything outside of the TOS.
can anybody here tell me, is server monitoring script is count as ABUSIVE ? i being state as abusive because using monitoring script to see the uptime of the service. is it count as abusive ?
Its your server, of course you should be able to monitor it.
The big thing that could label it as that, is how offen do you update? Every minute, half hour, etc. If you have a 30 second ping or check for 20 sites, then that could look bad and abusive.

they say so, because the only script running on their vps is that script. and now got suspended, also bein threaten to terminated my service because i comment at here. what a nice provider

No we don't suspend people for monitoring services. No we don't shut down VMs when they run benchmarks.
@isky your VM was automatically suspended by our abuse detection system (Nodewatch) and the reason listed was that you VPS appeared to be sending outbound DoS attacks. We did not manually suspend your VPS.
i'm confusing jon, your attitude change when going public, but when on personal ticket, you're threaten me because i post the downtime issue here. i keep said that i never use that box because it still unstable, even i dont use it, it still being suspended because of DoS attacks

If you constantly have abuse issues with your VPS I would be the same way.
