Small Japan/HK VPS (1C/1G) for personal monitoring + WireGuard — clean IP and good China routing?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a small VPS in Japan (preferred) or Hong Kong for personal, lightweight use:
- 1 vCPU / 1GB RAM / 10–20GB disk is enough
- Around 500GB/month bandwidth is plenty
- Use: latency/uptime monitoring of my own small self-hosted services, plus a personal WireGuard endpoint
What I care about most:
1. Routing to mainland China (Telecom / Unicom / Mobile) — IIJ or similar optimized routes would be ideal
2. A clean IP that isn't mis-geolocated or flagged everywhere
3. IPv6 included
Budget: roughly $40–60/year, a bit flexible if the routing is noticeably better.
I've been watching a couple of Osaka/Tokyo options that are often out of stock, so I'd love to hear what others are actually using for this kind of monitoring setup — provider + location, and any looking-glass links I should test before buying.
