There are many many more professional alternatives online than MXRoute, maybe is because they are abused constantly that they enforce some non-logical rules and immediate bans for absolute no reason.

So if you don't wanna wake up in the morning with a suspended account for no reason, avoid MXRoute.

No there is not for given price. The crane is unreliable and the rest is way more expensive than route.

    careful here..

i logged in a few months back when that other shit went down with mxroute, to see if they would be suitable to move my domains to and was surprised with a negative $40+ balance.

back in 2021 i paid tenbux for a year and ended up not using it much so let it lapse (i thought). apparently accounts don't lapse and i've been accumulating charges. i hopped on their discord server to find out wtf and they genuinely expected me to pony up 40 bucks to use the service again, and that's not happening so.

From my understanding he blocks many networks. Some of my IP ranges were blocked as well a while back as he blocked an ASN I use for my VPS (one of a few network providers I use, which many hosts use), but he removed them when I asked without any hassle, since I had a client who used MXRoute complaining about not receiving my mail. Some of my IPs are not on my own ASN (and not worth it to switch a live network at this point). I moved my mail server to my own ASN after that anyway since my ASN is cleaner than any commercial network.

@avsisp because of something that @Murv requires.
Between getting spam out of certain AS/ip block or losing business from that part of internet, it's easy to guess what @jar going to do

    Different saga.

tl;dr AVS ISP was accused of BGP hijacking so @jar blocked all emails from them as, in his words, "retaliation for being shitty network operators" and did so in hopes that mxroute customers' inability to receive mail with payment reminders and the like from AVS ISP would "cause them some problems down the road". Reposted from another thread:

    mail

In my personal opinion, while blocking spammers and other high-risk networks is fine, I really don't like the idea that customers are being used as pawns to punish unrelated networks because jar has a moral disagreement with the operator.

  • I have a different opinion. If you asked me around 3 years ago, should you self host
your email, my answer would be definitely no, go with reputable providers, unless you
fully understand the modern SPF/DKIM/DMARC stack. But today? I'm not a big LLM user,
but makes me think that for a few tokens you can ask AI to setup a drop-in mailbox for
you, based on the stuff you need (Mailcow etc).

Regardless, if you have a high outbound volume, consider a transactional provider to get
    all reputation for you sorted.

    10$/3 years? 17 domains and 31 mailbox.

  • not worth the drama. i just put my domain email into paid icloud on the $1/mo plan.
both email deliverability and incoming spam filter are better than mxroute

  • This topic is quite interesting, and I think I have some standing to speak on it. Over the past few years I’ve used lower-end but well-regarded senders like MXRoute and Namecheap as transactional email services. Most of the time they were reliable and worked well. Whenever spam waves hit, though, I would get caught in the crossfire. They always fixed it once I opened a ticket, but it was still a hassle.
About a month ago I deployed a self-hosted sending setup with Stalwart on Hetzner Cloud and never looked back. It’s stable and reliable, delivery is extremely fast, mail doesn’t land in spam, and I don’t have to deal with annoying complaint issues.

I have different experience - the less you send the tougher it is to get recognition of big ESPs (I used to have a lot of issues while doing <1000 emails monthly, almost no issues with >1000 emails daily).

I would recommend using 3rd party provider for small volume instead.

I've seen Stalwart, seems like a great suite. Anti-spam based on AI is great, especially with local support. Kinda wish I had a reason to try it out.

  • Stalwart and custom outbound rule to MXroute is perfect for me. Have been using it for 8+ months without problem

  • I have had zero problems in the ~5 years I have had the account. It just works.

  • Anybody using Mailcow? How is it?

Back in my day, we called those things mental issues and we tried to avoid such people. Our lives were so damn good afterwards.

Not implying anything, just shared a childhood memory.

  • @jar idk if you've seen this thread, but I wanna say THANK YOU for updating the main page: https://mxroute.com

It looks wayyyy better now, and I think everyone here can attest to that.

I think I'll be sticking with MXroute, as the general consensus seems to be that it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

That has nothing to do with morals tbh. Your mailprovider is throwing a tantrum, blocking a provider of sending bills which will cause issues for those customers. surely you know what happens if you dont pay.

Really? I hate it, the new site feels like an old Blesta theme. it's like the site went 20 years back in time.

0 f's given. He dropped some crooks for BGP hijack - win for me. Does 99.7% of mxroute clientele cares for this? Nope.

Did I stopped using Cloudflare when they thwarted their "free internet" agenda, after removing some questionable websites? Nope.

Does anyone stopped using hosthatch because the owner is self-proclaimed "black box personality"? Yes, it was me.

MXroute is the best option (in features, limits and deliverability) for given price. Being 0.3% essentially changes nothing.
