Posting links to websites with AI slop isn't disallowed, nor is advertising them here.
If you see another provider posting AI slop, flag the post. A lot of times it only slips through because a mod is not made aware of it.
@jbiloh - I don't know about the rest of your story with @PulsedMedia, but I agree with this part. We need clear guidelines, applicable to everyone.
Else, users like me will keep getting warned, even though you said to me via email/ticket basically: "yeah, you did nothing wrong, but the warn stays" - this is available on my profile page.
Tbh, being agasint AI on your forum and not having a clear guideline against - so-called - AI slop, is just your human slop, with all due respects.
On Stack Exchange, we typically just fully prohibit any AI-generated text, even with attribution. If it was pasted in whole or in part from a generative AI model, it gets deleted. I think that would be a good idea here, although it would certainly piss off a lot of providers who only come in occasionally to dump a quick deal and then disappear and who use AI formatting for their offers.
that only works to make the AI texts hidden, with better prompting, laundering etc. to make it shaped like human text and eventually indistinguishable from human text.
ie. we have quite long skills, and processes to get any content released by Väinämöinen and we hone them all the time. I am certain we cannot be the only one (see humanizer skill on git as an example)
There are also many ways to use AI, i have used Grok many times just for formatting updates. Fact checking / adversarial reviews are common as well.
Wow, that is shady. Admitting fault, then still slapping a warn on you. Reminds me of the certain "CCP Agent" publicizing his reasoning for certain things being in demand, and they are very very much against individual freedoms and freedom of speech and opinion, but when i pointed them out, i got slapped with big red warning and threats of banning -- while the other user spent humongous amounts of effort to annoy us. Because we refused to sell him undercost services and give to his public extortion. (Every provider here probably knows who i mean ...)
There are reasons why so many providers are leaving LET.
The rules are being applied on face value, who you know. Typical forum shenanigans and why bigger businesses don't bother engagement, this is someone else's turf. All forums eventually turn to certain kind of bias. See Moon's documentary on Reddit.
AI cannot be stopped, it will only get better and more prevalent. Human time is too precious for every task to be handled by a human.
You just counteracted your own comment; AI Content is permissible and approved, as long as it is helpful and on-point.
Which one is it? All AI banned, or good content approved?
You cannot have it both ways at the same time.
Here on LET it is obvious tho; The better the AI Content is, the more likely it is to get buried and deleted, and the sloppier it is, the more likely it gets to remain or even is promoted by the admins.
If it's so good that we can't even tell that it's not a person, then good job. The problem with AI slop is that it's slop.
Yes.
Here on LET tho, any AI is banned. Our mistake was probably that we told it's AI.
A big fraction of our end users don't even realize Väinämöinen is AI. Many think he is a real person, obvious from feedback, reviews, discord comments etc.
Nah, it was pretty obvious that it was AI.
50% of people have below average intelligence.
To be fair, it was obvious.
I think you are taking this too hard. Everything is just fine, friend.
I agree that more clarity is needed. We are going to work on that ASAP.
Then restore the thread, since it's not a big deal.
Or is there a reason it was deleted and not locked?
