Maybe, who knows what this kids real name is!
Services have started being suspended?! This means the true fun of this drama has now begun. Many customers who did not read the e-mail messages about (extortion) payment will now come to complain here.
@ralf
I got mine before Eric appeared and it's also not a triple [whatever, e.g. RAM] deal plus it's above €10/yr.
Yet almost everybody here seriously expected Eric to keep those deals alive and running.
Yeah, continuity of service is what people expect when someone buys a business.
And it's a little confusing, Eric keeps claiming that the servers are "essentially free" with the multiple racks of idle servers he has, that he also has $12m in funding for this project and there were 3000 customers brought over. Simple maths shows that if he was telling the truth then keeping service running for existing customers would barely make a dent on his vast resources.
So what's the deal you got from Velox and how much does it cost?
Eric buys an entity called "VeloxMedia", he starts trading under that name, he has the hardware of that entity, he has and uses the customer data of that entity.
Basically he bought the company - and the way he acts with the customers of VeloxMedia - that's including the customers. He can deny it, but then he should have acted differently. And his "legal team" should be telling him. Look at my comparison with a landlord quite some pages back.
What does that have to do with other companies who could offer "refugee deals"? People are/were seriously expecting VeloxMedia to respect contracts. What is wrong with that in your opinion?
My guess was that he actually intended to keep all our VPS alive and running, at least for a year (counting from when they were activated), but due to what he experienced here changed to not doing as originally planned and when his experience here got even worse he seems to have decided to kill all LET deals; meanwhile though he seems to have chosen a somewhat milder compromise.
And while running servers never comes for free because of electric power cost, bandwidth used, etc. a somewhat bigger provider can play that game and swallow the losses as marketing and sales cost and in fact, quite a few providers here use(d) that scheme albeit usually on a smaller scale. Seen from the perspective from a provider desiring to enter the LET market segment it may even look relatively attractive.
In hindsight it probably would have been better (for him) to let the old (Lewis) operation go belly up and to make a refugee offer a bit later, i.e. to keep the anger created by Lewis basically going belly up focused on Lewis. But the way Eric did it, again, probably with good intentions, had quite a bit of that anger immediately switched over on himself, Eric.
NOYB.
Also I already provided some info already.
Guys, seriously...
Nobody bought this business and everything that has been said/written by the various 'owners' is bullshit.
Nothing 'they' have ever said is consistent or credible, and whoever 'they' are have had countless opportunities to explain themselves...yet each time they've come out with embarrassingly obvious lies, (like having a $12M/year business and retained lawyers who specialise in GDPR etc).
I'm not going to claim I know how the scam was supposed to work, but I suspect it didn't go as planned and I'm absolutely certain that the US LLC is fraudulent, (as in Eric Banks is a real person who had a copy of his ID stolen and abused by persons unknown, likely of UK origin).
Chargeback if you can, although I'm not convinced it'll affect the 'owners' because they've been so busy telling people to do it. My guess is they're frauding the payment gateways using stolen ID, but regardless get a refund if you can because it's either you or the payment gateway that loses here.
It's kinda my business when you come here regularly and suck dick of Velox.
Or most likely you don't want to give out your plan details in case Eric, Lewis, Tom trio would just find it and cancel your VPS also
Then you won't have any boots left to lick.
until someone can prove a 'eric banks' actually exists, it's all a scam
If Eric would have kept the plans active, that would have been some serious advertising for a serious investor. He even could have kept plans active and request feedback and reviews and benchmarks as courtesy. In such a way he would have gotten positive SEO and good publicity instead of drama.
But Eric did not want positive and authentic reviews of a serious business; Eric wanted an exit scam to keep the easy money for himself. The obvious answer was: chargebacks.
I thought Eric, Lewis, Tom had some multi million hosting business or smth like that, how come he is hunting after those deadpool deals if he is already being hosting millionaire?
Or perhaps that's not true? lol
That doesn't sound right. There's been members involved in criminal and civil suits for hundreds of thousands. And others with multiple scam companies...
What's even more cringe is you guys got the MODs to believe all this bullshit and got him banned, when he provided more credentials than Lewis ever did. He revoked LET deals because of that needless ban, when all the MODs had to do was communicate, educate and verify.
Its obvious charge backs started happening before his comments here. Thats why he had to do, what he had to do and said what he said. You can draw it up however you want. You obviously have your own agenda and the real ones see right through it. Literally only 10 people and their alt accounts are complaining.
How is he getting ridiculed for Lewis' old offerings? Just look at VM offerings/prices now, they are on the other side of the moon. Make it, make sense?!? If it was an exit scam, just leaving would of been a lot easier than dealing with this BS.
Extremely unfair to silence the source and have these lames continue on. This thread has no business talking about professionalism.
Enjoy the weekend!
@barbaros
Do you really "think" that throwing stupid insult attempts and dirt at me achieves anything? If so you must be even more idiotic and primitive than I thought you are.
Sorry, no, that's not how it works. YOU must prove your allegations, not him that you are wrong.
he was banned because he sent threats to the mod team

lmao
In your last posts you wrote about facts, now you write about guessing. Btw what do you think that veloxmedia got banned here? Why you are still defending a banned hoster here?
Let's see if @jsg server stay online
BTW I like this thread cause I can add some users to my ignore list
Officially and unfortunately I should say that I was wrong. it’s really a scam.
I have a new deal in the client portal but cannot pay because there are no payment methods available for me. After I contacted Eric, he said he cannot do anything about it and won’t give me extra time to pay and keep service online until that. My service was originally prepaid for two years, so refusing to allow delayed payment until more payment methods are available feels like a scam.
Oh I am sorry if you thought I was throwing stupid insults and dirt at you, I wasn't.
I was just stating the fact aka what you were doing since the first post of this thread, which is boot licking velox media because you got some deal from them and it didn't got cancelled yet
I think he mentioned it once and he should worry as a reliable source told me the specific deal is gonna be terminated or to be continued if you pay the extortion fee.
Allright. Let's skip all the noice and focus on one single thing.
He openly admitted to stealing my money. Basically in real time, documented here on let.
That alone is enough to ban the twat.
I found it from a search for low-cost UK VPSes (on DDG I think). I remember distinctly checking out the site and going to the AUP to see what their abuse policies are and being surprised that they explicitly prohibited Tor exit and middle relays. I ended up opening a support ticket asking about it, and Lewis personally responded and said that it was just there to discourage people from running exits, but that I'd be fine running a middle relay and that I can trust him because he's the owner and no one can override his say. That didn't age well, of course.
damn, can i grab popcorn?
At least 2 guys polishing shoes

It is incredible how people still believes on him.
Fr, those who refuse to see are the blindest.
Why is the reason recorded as overdue on payment?
No one is expecting a hosting provider to go bankrupt or look for a loan shark just to maintain unsustainable deals, but everyone is expecting the host to either give them the service they paid for, or refund them for the unfulfilled portion.
If I tell you that I'll take you to the moon for $3.50 and you give me the money but it turns out my bottle rocket can't even reach orbit, the response you should expect from me would be me handing back your $3.50 and saying "sorry, I over-promised" while hanging my head in embarrassment.
Not only did he state that he intended to, but he promised that he would keep them up, excepting the particularly crazy deals. The fact that he went on to cancel all LET deals without refund shows that we cannot trust his word.
If an adult is bullied, rightly or wrongly, they should not lash back out, especially not when money is involved.
Or, as someone else here said, he should have told Lewis "hey, I can't buy this off you until you deal with the existing customers. Make sure you do that and then give me clean hardware". Instead, he decided to pick and choose with existing customers, flexing his legal authority (or perceived legal authority) to do so.
At the very least, he should have wiped all the servers upon getting them. If he presented himself as the mere buyer of hardware, we'd have no issue with him wiping them anymore than we'd have issue with some dude in Kansas wiping a drive that he bought from Lewis off eBay. But he presented himself as the new owner of VeloxMedia, with the previous owner explicitly telling us we'd "be in good hands". At that point, everyone will collectively put responsibility on him to continue the services.
Now when they mysteriously disappear in a couple weeks we're gonna get blamed for them deadpooling due to you guys being big meanieheads.
