  • When transferring a domain name to NameCrane, will the process involve adding at least one year to registration? I'm wondering if there's a potential snag for names whose expiration is already over nine years away. The assumption is that registration over ten years is forbidden.

NameCrane still has not opened up domain registrations.

That being said, gTLD domain name transfers between registrars, by definition, always include a one year extension of the expiration date. Maximum expiration date can be ten years out.

So if a name has more than nine years until expiration, then transferring is impossible. Correct? That's my question.

In other words, one must wait until only nine years remain. Before that magic number, one is stuck with one's current registrar. Do I have it right?

I believe in such a scenario the transfer would go through but you'd lose gaining the extra year.

  • @NameCrane I have mailcow mail server, can I migrate to yours? do you have any auto migrate tool/guide?

  • I couldn't access webmail once today. Is everything okay?

Just the os drive. The DC accidentally unplugged it thinking we were swapped away. I was able to get in and fix that up.

Been hard finding new drives instead of Intels with 60k hours already so I’ve not been able to replace. We finally got some on the way though :)

Bit of an update for people!

We've merged in a section on the WHMCS side of things where you can set a bunch of user/domain defaults (as well as mass apply to existing domains) to make it easier to add new domains.

You can set the language, timezones, plus addressing, things like that.

This is also auto applies for users using our whmcs/blesta modules.

Working to finish up the workspace.org branding as well.

We're working on some sort of feedback board that users can take part in (think something kinda like https://requests.whmcs.com/ ) and we can start getting some priority on features/requests.

I think it'd be a useful system for voting on TLD's and such.

What happened to the long talked upgrades to shared plans? They were coming soon in December.

  • @Francisco , I just encountered some issues while purchasing the lifetime plan! I've already registered an account and frequently share your products with my readers! I'm from China, and my account is being forced to use Alipay or cryptocurrency payments—there's no PayPal option! Why are Chinese users being locked out and forced to use Alipay or cryptocurrency? I need to pay using my PayPal balance—my account is linked to PayPal, which you can verify later! How can I use PayPal for payment?

Looking forward to your response. Thank you!

Just a time thing but still very much planned. I've been engrossed in domain work the past fee weeks and have been MIA for most other things.

I shared a screenshot of us registering our first domains yesterday :)

You can pay with paypal if you use correct/valid details.

If you at first picked alipay/crypto then it'll lock you to that because no fraud checks have been performed.

You can request billing reset you to 'normal' and you order again with paypal, but if you get flagged you're kinda hooped.

This is email we're dealing with. Making it easy for questionable orders to pass just means we're going to turn into sendgrid with non stop spam/etc pushing.

  • @Francisco Is it intentional? It seems that the email took a few minutes to arrives to a gmail inbox. When I tried to request a password reset using my domain that has ClassicPress installed.

Silly question: Is OnlyOffice currently only available in US locations? I'm in EU1 and even though the feature is enabled (both, in the client area as well as in SmarterMail), I can't see any way to access it.

  • JosephFJosephF Member

Is there a benefit to utilizing the bundled version of OnlyOffice versus the downloadable version of OnlyOffice on its website?

ours is web based...? so you don't have to install it on your desktop.

That sounds like a bug! Open a ticket and i'll check it out and make sure its correct.

  • Posting here as Support has been slow this weekend (not blaming them, it's Easter and my ticket isn't THAT urgent). I'm seeing delays between 2 - 3 minutes when receiving emails that should otherwise be quasi-instant (2FA codes) and I understand this is due to grey-listing that SmarterMail does. So before anyone jumps in and suggest I turn on SpamExperts (and whitelist the 2FA senders), please hear me out:

    1. I do NOT want to turn on SpamExperts just yet
    2. I think back in late 2024 when grey-listing was first mentioned, the delay quoted here was in the 15 minutes range. I was under the impression the sender controls the retry delay, why would SmarterMail have any say? So IF the sender controls it - could it be that they retry sooner rather than later (the 2 - 3 minutes I'm experiencing) to prevent codes from expiring?
    3. Also back in late 2024 there was a mention of the possibility of disabling grey-listing. I checked all settings in SmarterMail, and (unless I'm blind) can't see anything of the sorts. Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Sorry, I guess i'm not subscribed to this thread.

We can disable it for you on a per domain basis. If you PM me your domain/ticket I'll sort it. I'll see about exposing that on the admin portal.

Thanks for replying! For the time being I've granted a few senders the "Trusted" status and it seems to help somewhat, but I'm not sure if doing this is supposed to bypass grey-listing entirely - can you confirm? SmarterMail's documentation isn't very clear on that...

    Sorry.

Not on the SM side, i've asked the devs about it already.
