Surprised that no one seems to be talking about their storage servers. Don't you use them?

They have reduced storage from 4 TB to 1.4 TB and increased the price from $42 to $46 per month.

That was a nice upgrade.

As for the very negative judgements re Contabo:

Yes, it's a disgrace that they just dump their offer, blather about "listening" and "interested in feedback" - but do not respond. At all.
Yes, some (most?) of their locations still have hardware that isn't exactly attractive, even calling it old or - for today's standards - weak would not be out of place.
But No, it's not as simple as "Contabo is crap". My recent benchmarks clearly show that their german VPS is attractive and good value for money. And kindly note that that node was upgraded by them without any input of myself and without me requesting it; they just did it, during what I guess was a modernization effort by Contabo. Yep, the drive isn't exactly fast but about 10 MB/s and 2500 IOps is damn good enough for most use cases. And Yep again their 200 Mb/s network BW limit is somewhat low but IMO within what can be considered reasonable, albeit on the lower end. All in all, four cores on a seriously fast Epyc and a large albeit not exactly fast drive along with 32 TB traffic on a decently connected albeit somewhat BW limited network for something like €5 per month is a good deal!

Most importantly though and why I decided to post this IMO is the fact that they upgraded their german DC(s?) and significantly so, because it clearly shows that Contabo does care and does move, albeit not as fast as many - probably rightfully - desire.

So, feel free and go ahead and complain about this or that but calling Contabo a careless shitshow or similar obviously is not justified. (I myself am not always exactly happy with what I see there but tend to not complain when I feel I get good bang per buck).

P.S. Most locations for which I had multiple test targets (incl Iran!) showed very similar results to the chosen one (best result).

Plus: 200 Mb/s or 10Gb/s, me care little, at the end of the day I care about connectivity which for this DE VPS is good in terms of "reaches nearly every target" and acceptable or even decent in terms of speed when considering the 200 Mb/s limit.
