Imo no
I think yes but BYOL (I think they only give you access to the trial version or whatever).
Also, see https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/203022/error-installing-windows-in-netcup-vps - may get some help there as well.
Not on arm, yet. Have been unable to
i am out.
better stay with famesystem ryzen 9 9900x.
Just got the x86 shared VPS for 7 eur monthly, no setup fee, no minimum commitment
;(
honestly, do you really need it on 4c 8gb ram?
RAM : 7.7 GiB
@eupsagony
I'm guessing kdump is enabled? Get rid of that and your RAM should reflect closer to 8G
"need" is not the correct word for anything I do here
probably, but I never actually cared about it, also on other installations.
If I need more RAM I either upgrade or add SWAP file.
Is there a lot of difference between the dedicated cpu servers and the plain shared x86 ones?
The models are different. Haven’t really seen any steal, but didn’t really pushed those machines to it’s edge either
Iirc I get around 1500-2000 GB6 score for the RS line and -1200 GB6 for the VPS line. And also you are not allowed to push the CPU for a long period of time for the VPS line, while you can keep using it 100% for the RS line
I have installed windows server 2025 Very easy.
Funfact, if you buy their nuremburg location, their disk is fast. But if you buy their Austria location, the CPU is fast(1.6k single, 6k total in 8G4C).
Has anyone used netcup for seedboxes? Will they terminate instantly if receive DMCA(P2P)?
Germany is no good place for DMCA ignore
From what I have heard, they temporarily block the service(s) and then ask questions. Depending on the case, they either remove the block, terminate the service, or terminate your account.
Be aware that their legal team doesn't work on weekends, holidays, etc., so if you are blocked on a Friday, they won't look at your tickets before the following Monday.
Their terms pretty much say the same thing:
The Germany x86 hovers around 1000. Okish.
RS is different beast. I throttle it to around 60%-70% and only then both the CPU comes somewhat equivalent performance in real usage (for example, equivalent fps in encoding provided all other parameters same including os)
Disappointed with the shared and exceeded the expectations with RS.

Netcup flash deals will end soon and this is the way that you can get the server you want for the cheapest price
Head over to https://www.vpsbenchmarks.com/hosters/netcup then navigate for "netcup coupons" there you will see a promo code which is 5€ , grab it and go to https://www.netcup.com/en/deals and select the server you want , for example for myself I got VPS 1000 G11 SE which has double storage and is permanently cheaper and it's only 5.75€ , then add the voucher that you just grabbed and place it , and there you go , now you only need to pay 0.75€ for a server with 4v cores , 8gb ddr4 ram , 512gb SSD
Don't miss it out.
Buy the RS.
With just 2.50 euro more, the performance gets multi fold.
Use search feature
It really helps

This makes me happy singe I believe I accidently recommended it before I realized it was ARM

If you're using the US location, make sure to update
/etc/resolv.conf. The default DNS servers are located in Europe, which causes things to get routed to Europe instead of staying in the US (includingdeb.debian.orgwhen installing packages). Also on my ARM VPS,
/etc/apt/sources.listwas usingdebian.anexia.at(which is located in Europe) instead ofdeb.debian.org(CDN hosted). Switched it todeb.debian.orgfor faster downloads.fio Disk Speed Tests looks slow? Compared to the rest of the yabs shown?
Is this accurate?
Numbers wise yes - NUR is fast on disk but seems like CPU is relatively slower (this is for VPS). VIE is fast on CPU but disk is much slower (seems more like capped IO and I think well above usability thresholds for most use cases but it's not YABS top of the charts).
RS is good cpu in NUR but disk is slow (like VIE). So it's quite uncharacteristic.
