Questions about a provider called host-c
Hello,
I'm considering getting a server from host-c, but I'm curious on how they are as a VPS provider. How is their uptime? I can't find a single page online that shows uptime history, nor a looking glass page. And are they trustworthy? I don't want a provider thats going to go out of business in the next few months/years.
Thank you

Then go to a provider you don't have to ask questions about.
I guess you're off the list then.
Sure. I was refering to hyper-known providers similar to: ovh, hetzner, scaleway, m247... and so on.
Host-C has achieved cult status in the LET community, their offers sell out in seconds and the only complaints I've heard about them here is about how hard it is to buy their promos.
Personally, I have a storage server with them and it's been excellent. The only downtimes have been planned maintenance, (with plenty of advanced notice), and when ithe VPS comes back online it's had something upgraded.
In my opinion Host-C is one of the best LET Providers, and I'm sure most of the community agrees because they scored well in the 'Top Provider Poll 2024'
Ask @dev_vps
@host_c = king of storage
They're totally fine in my opinion, as someone who holds a storage server from them. You can start with a shorter term plan and see if their services meet your needs.
The one you are asking question about is the one I am trying to have a VPS from

I have one of their 5TB storage servers; can’t complain for $45/yr. Download speed often exceeds 100 MB/s, which is great for a 1Gbps server. Most 1Gbps storage servers from others are at most 50-60 MB/s.
Here’s my @host_c storage server uptime

The downtime is due to planned maintenance which was informed way ahead of the actual event but I didn’t set maintenance mode in Hetrix.
Because your post is well crafted I was curious about AI opinion:
Evaluating a VPS provider like Host-C involves assessing their uptime reliability, trustworthiness, and overall service quality. Here's what I found based on available information:
Uptime and Reliability:
Host-C operates data centers primarily in Oradea, Romania, utilizing Xeon processors and NVMe storage for their VPS offerings. While specific uptime statistics aren't publicly available, user reviews suggest satisfactory performance. For instance, a user on LowEndTalk mentioned, "I haven't had a minute's downtime in the time I've been here." citeturn0search15
Trustworthiness and Business Stability:
Host-C is a Bulgarian company with its headquarters in Ruse, primarily operating in Romania. They've been active in the hosting community since at least March 2023, as evidenced by their participation in forums like LowEndTalk. citeturn0search3 The company's engagement in these communities and the absence of significant negative feedback suggest a level of trustworthiness.
Additional Considerations:
Prohibited Uses: Host-C has specific usage policies, prohibiting activities such as hosting email servers, DNS servers, and pornographic content. citeturn0search8
Payment Methods: They accept payments via PayPal, Stripe, and bank transfers, with plans to introduce additional options like Revolut and cryptocurrency. citeturn0search2
Conclusion:
While concrete uptime data for Host-C isn't publicly available, user experiences indicate reliable service. Their active participation in hosting communities and adherence to clear policies reflect a commitment to maintaining a trustworthy service.

Uptime: My compute VPS has 100% uptime and my Storage VPS 99.999% uptime in the last 3 months (only since 3months ago i monitor them with Hetrix)
Thank you everyone for your comments, cleared up basically all of my questions 😊
Don't get a server from @host_c!
Reason: As his storage VPS are very fast (for a storage VPS), actually have more processor performance than needed for storage, are very well designed, are known to be reliable, and - for good reason - are recommended by pretty much everyone with experience ... you buying one would leave one less for us!
As a side note, I seem to smell something very tasty cooking in the host_c DC ...
host_c is good, although I don't have service from it. However, it can demonstrate something as it is on the top provider list.
I have been trying to get a @host_c Terabyte deal for months now 😢😢
I only hope they don't deadpool too soon.
They're premium IMHO.
So far my servers had no single downtime, basically no steal and consistent performance (disk speed, CPU speed and network).
Support is also rather fast (my tickets were always answered the same day I think), and even if you don't manage to snatch one of their deals, it's still priced quite reasonably IMHO.
@host_c is quite friendly...

Can 100% vouch for host-c, check signature for uptime.
if I can have only one vps …. it would be @host-c
@host_c would you want to consider renaming yourself from @host_c to @host-c
Oh, I forgot to mention that @host_c also is super cheap!
Blame that on my lack of coffee this morning … 😀
where did @host_s come from?
wasn't that c?
No, that was me seeming to get increasingly senile.
Thanks! Corrected.
I hope so too.
With that being said, I also hope people don't keep on squeezing him for unsustainable deals.
Host-Champ needs to be Host-Continuous, not Host-Closed.
Agreed, he's been extremely loyal (as a provider), making sure we get the best of the product we pay for. That should come with some kind of compromise, eventually. I think he's a smart provider, building up a strong base -- don't expect the promos to last forever. Take advantage when you can, show loyalty, help him grow and he's proven to be grateful of it and reciprocate.
As far as the service and product, top notch.
as I recall, I could not use host-c as user name, so host_c was the alternative here.
GHT was already taken.
