Fair question.
There is a distinction — but not an unfair one. It's based on the nature of the original offer and the long-term sustainability of each plan. Giving everyone a free upgrade simply isn’t viable, but we’ve tried to strike a reasonable balance wherever possible.
The free upgrades are limited to a specific group of promo and one-off plans — things like the Black Friday specials, 7 USD Ticket deals, Legendary, Revuelto, and other quirky or limited-run offers.
We're keeping those alive on newer hardware as a gesture of goodwill, even though many of them run at or below cost (but more on the later 😄😄). These plans aren’t huge in number, so the impact is manageable by us.
Now, to be fully transparent — maintaining ~1.8 petabytes of storage on modern hardware, while sticking to 2023–2024 pricing, and navigating today's geo-economic reality is.... Let’s just say it’s more than impractical — it’s borderline insane.
We’re doing what we can to be fair.
That means we can’t give out free upgrades to everyone, but we’re offering free ones where we can afford it.
PS: If you really want to blame someone… blame the jackasses running the world economy.
Do something. Change something. Or at the very least — stay vocal. 😄
I'm interested in the statement, "although many of these plans operate at or below cost (more details on this later 😄😄)." I’ll be looking forward to your detailed explanation later. Also, I’d like to ask, what is the latest deadline for deciding whether to upgrade or not?
Also, since you have previously offered a one-time payment upgrade plan, could you provide users with more options for plans to choose from?
That was a typo, I already edited it to

As for deadlines — currently only the 10 TB “Nimitz” customers have received a specific upgrade offer, and that offer is valid until 31 July 2025.
Some legacy plans from 2023 have also received emails with upgrade options, but those were relatively few.
We have over 130 types of VPS services, each with different specs, pricing, history, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. That’s why we’re handling them individually, and everyone on E5-V4 will receive a direct email with an offer tailored to their plan.
So, if you have an E5-V4-based service, sit back, relax — an email will come your way when it's your turn.
Now, if you used a fake or disposable email, well… that’s on you. 😅
We’ve reminded everyone multiple times over the past 8 months to keep their account info up to date.
If that was ignored, unfortunately, you won’t receive your personalized upgrade offer, and we won’t post these offers publicly on the forum, because they’re tied directly to your product plus it would just drive confusion and misinformation.
Yes, we did and those who chose it are happy with what they got.
But the thing is: an offer is an offer.
If it becomes repetitive, it turns into a standard sale, and that defeats the entire point of it.
We will first send out the first offer of an upgrade path to all customers on E5-V4 services.
After that will end, we will start round 2. Details of round 2, well, in round 2.
Alright, I will wait for my email, but I still suggest that you consider offering a one-time payment plan. Since the upgrade to the platform incurs additional costs, users could simply bear that portion of the cost. I hope you can take my suggestion into consideration, just as you have adopted such a plan in the past. Perhaps this could also be an option, don't you think?
I do, and we actually started with that mindset.
But it doesn’t scale well with the mass-model services, where units were sold in large numbers. 😄
The math simply doesn’t hold up.
It works for niche plans or limited editions, but not for broad deployment across bulk services.
That said, your suggestion is valid and we may explore one-time upgrade paths again for specific service types where it makes financial and technical sense.
I’ll ask just one thing from everyone:
👉 If you’ve received an email with an upgrade offer for your service, please open a support ticket.
Do not use the forum for confirmations, questions, or follow-ups related to your specific service. Anything posted here in that context will be disregarded — this is a forum, not a ticketing system.
We’re a small team, and this will be a heavy task for us to process. So please be patient — we’ll get to you.
This is also why we’re handling each product type individually. With over 130 service variants, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution — but we have enough time to sort everything out.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

You said: "We will first send out the first offer of an upgrade path to all customers on E5-V4 services. After that will end, we will start round 2. I think during the upgrade process, you could also provide suitable offers to certain specific plans that are appropriate for such measures. I look forward to your email with the detailed upgrade plan, and based on the content of the email, I will submit a ticket to discuss further.
Alright, last attempt any new promo for new customer, that is very good deal? storage or vps
Which email said that. The one I got only said lifecycle may be shorter than 3 years, and the EOL products will not receive updates. the link at the bottom of the email says they wont even be maintained. the email also encourages me to consider upgrade options, which carried a 40%+ price increase.
**This is on a product that I ordered when it was first available and it hasnt even been a year **
thanks
this is the email received. Notice the link at the bottom has different txt than the emall
Dear Customer,
We hope this message finds you well.
We are writing to inform you of an important update to our Product Lifecycle Policy, which will take effect immediately. This change is part of our commitment to maintaining a modern, secure, and high-performance infrastructure for all our customers.
What's Changing:
Our products will now follow a standard lifecycle of approximately three (3) years. However, please note that in certain cases, the lifecycle may be shorter, particularly when the hardware underlying a product is decommissioned early or replaced with newer-generation equipment. This ensures that we continue to offer services aligned with evolving technologies and industry standards.
What This Means for You:
You can review the updated policy in our Terms and Conditions here: [Insert Link to Updated Terms]
We appreciate your understanding and continued trust in our services. If you have any questions or need assistance with a service review or migration planning, our support team is here to help.

HOST-C Team.
It’s the current batch of upgrade offer email that is being sent out that mentions April 2027, not the announcement
@host_c keep up the good work yo! Excited for the upgrades. Thanks!!
Not quite, E5-V4 platform will not get any more updates, enhancements or perks.
They will not get the LAN setup either that should become available at some-point.
basically, they will stay as they are until the closing date. ( they will get security updates and will be maintained Hardware wise )
@nvme - I answered you here, as I did not wish to derail the initial tread.
Cheers!
check your e-mail
we sent out mail for the Pioneer 5TB LET Edition and the Nimitz 10TB.
If you have the Pioneer LES Edition, that will come in a few weeks, this time they will be named separately to end the confusion once and for all.
Again, the whole E5-V4 line will come to an end by April 2027, some E5-V4 services sooner.
I love quoting myself
The sooner we manage that the sooner we can focus on more pressing issues, like DDR5 systems, better net, more payment options for some that cannot use pay-pal or Revolut and many other, but first, I wish to end this subject and be done with it.
So you started hating E5-V4 line just like @lirrr ?
I am not a fan either 😆
I am fine with new pricing, it is cheaper compared to what is being offered.
I just lost my host_c virginity today with big disks, any $7 deals? 😂
BF, BF, BF

PS; Welcome
make it $3.50
I would like to ask whether the upgrade plan will clear the original data or keep the previous data for the upgrade?
Did I already told you that I LOVE my 2TB plan for $20/year (IPv6 only) ???????

@host_c
no new deals?
After we clear out this upgrade path for those who jumped on it, I will create some new DEALZZZZ, by that time we will also fire up 2 new Scale Gen 2 Nodes + A bit better switching.
give me a $5 5TB pls,i'll become ur believer and make a wish at today's birthday party that u can have 10 wives
@host_c perfect opportunity to start a cult now let’s goo
All the upgrades!
No data is lost, it is a live migration + a reboot at the end so the new CPU can be applied to the VPS, it is however a 1- 6 hour live migration, depending on your ammount of data stored.
We limited these migrations to have a minimum impact on source and destination node IO wise.
This is the reason why we also reply to your upgrade tickets slowly, as we are processing them 2 by 2.
Plus we also got some new toys to play around in a few days.
WE LOVE BIG STORAGE DISKS!
