Automatic sync between devices (though I personally don't use that as I only use one device).
And the browser extension is IMHO great, you can with a shortcut generate a password and copy it to the clipboard, lock the vault, fill passwords, and it has integrated TOTP support.
Well that's not true. Neko has Remmina docker application and Remmina supports RDP, VNC, NX, XDMCP, SPICE, X2Go protocols, which means you can run everything a desktop can using it...
In addition to browsers and Remmina, Neko supports several other Docker applications like VLC and Kodi, and it's even relatively straightforward to create your own Neko build with any application you want to run directly.
It seems you may not have fully explored it's capabilities.
Website accessible only via tailscale for a single user and also tor bridge. I hope i get bandwidth on that to help users. Long live good providers
Wait i though TOTP is only for premium subscription only. So they're available on Self-hosted too?
But ya i prefer not put one basket in an egg, so i use Aegis for TOTP and KeePass for pasaword manager and do cross-device syncing by syncthing.
Then that's one reason more to use Vaultwarden - it's completely free.
Kasm includes a Remmina image, but it doesn’t rely on it to connect to remote desktops. This functionality is integrated directly into the system, eliminating the need to install additional applications. It also integrates seamlessly with user accounts, allowing you to configure RDP connections to Windows or Linux desktops with user-specific access permissions. This makes it much easier to share remote desktops or containers.
Additionally, KasmVNC outperforms traditional VNC in terms of functionality and experience.
I'm kinda afraid to self-host VaultWarden tho.
Why? The server doesn't know the passwords.
I have been selfhosting various pieces of software for a decade now, but this year actually does have a short story about selfhosting.
TLDR: merging data from two phones is a pain in the ass if wifi on one phone is broken and immich helped tremendously with photos.
Long version:
I don't take many photos with my phone and since I use iPhone with iCloud I never thought about photo backup at all. My partner on the other hand does take a lot of photos but doesn't have a backup solution at all, no google cloud or whathaveyou (android user). When we met 2 years ago she was using an oldish samsung phone as she had dropped her actual phone in the bathtub which broke it (kinda) as it wouldn't turn back on, at all. No backup meant she had lost a few years worth of photos (she used to transfer her data from one phone to the next with the help of a friend).
At the beginning of this year we found the broken phone in her cable box (not sure if that's a concept where you're from, but where I'm from basically every household has this one box/drawer/bin where all the unused cables end up in).
Checking it we found that it was working again but we forgot about it because life happens.
Fastforward a few months her oldish samsung phone started acting up, and it got worse with time up until October where if she had wifi enabled on the phone most of our wifi appliances like fire tv sticks, plugs and lights wouldn't work correctly and she couldn't use the internet with wifi enabled either.
This finally made her want to change back to the working phone and I tried various ways to accomplish it... Without luck due to the problematic wifi situation...
In the end we manually installed all her apps and transferred the data by hand, excluding whatsapp which we backed up to google and contacts which we transferred via bluetooth.
The other important aspect where her photos. I did try to transfer them via computer, but that didn't work either, as the samsung software crashed before a backup was finished and accessing the photos directly didn't work either.
What did work was using immich, where the selfthosing part comes into play.
It's super easy to setup, basically
docker compose up -don the server. Then we installed the app on both phones and used throttled mobile data (56kb/s) on the samsung device to backup some 20k photos, which took days, but worked just like that. Now she finally has a backup solution for her photos, that's also super easy to backup for me.
bitwarden is free as well? except the authnticator.
selfhost means extra maintenance. I'll have to setup/migrate each year or two when I change server.
besides, LowEnd servers are not that reliable I think.
sync across devices. with keepass, you'd have to throw your db on a remote storage and then use syncthing
stupidity at it's best. keep going
Why not just use adguard DNS servers? Looks like the same thing
Mqybe not thisnyear
But last year i set up my backups and duplicati
This year i moved instead of copying about 30gb worth of pictures and later deleted the copy (original)
Overnight applied backup= no damage
You can use custom filtering rules and/or custom lists. Pi-hole compatible.

Does anyone have recommendation for a cheap yet reliable residential ip / proxy provider which can bypass VPN detection? Or any tricks / tricks ?

Basement to swamp.
They dropped you because youre network was shit and kept dying.
does it backup animated photos properly? does it backup original .heic from ios or does it convert to jpg?
+1 for SafeInCloud

coolify is pretty good
Self hosting is more secure, in my opinion.
I will give it a try these weeks.
Yes, it backs up live photos, as well. https://immich.app/docs/features/supported-formats/
Might be worth reading this: https://en0.sh/raw/xtreks-unraid-rant
Honestly I prefer Bitwarden because I can't really think of a good way to sync that across my devices.
Hehe, that rant missed signature "Karen". Wonder what's his opinion on qnap and synology.
It's garbage, duh
