Honestly the team will be able to suggest best solution
usually they know about these processes more than me
yeah the only diffrence is the the slice NVMe storage everything else is the same
and yes you can find some configs are much cheaper than others depending on your needs
yes will switch 10mbps
You are correct 100%
Xen is great for many many features that are not available on kvm out of box
but disk performance is not their strong point
Those NVMe on the server have read 1210000 IOPS and 480K write IOPS
and on some cases we run 4 or 5 vms per server
but the VM cannot do fraction of that
to be honest in real word situation it was never that we saw an application being much slower due to disk speed on nvme
So it seems it only for yabs that it does not show good numbers
That being said we are working on a project to rewrite good chunk of storage code in xen but it is not easy task so dont have ETA about it yet
yes as long as we have stock
but within like 2 or 3 weeks I would say we will definitely have some but if you are talking about 1 year from now then it depend on that time
yes open a ticket but dont expect same number as KVM based VPS , xen does not get same numbers although the hardware here is excellent
We are working on perminant fix for this but it is still in very early stages
The disk is nvme but i am not sure how windows will show it as in xen the drive you see in windows in called tapdisk which is software layer between the actual nvme and your windows VPS
which server you are looking for
for greyhound servers we can switch to unlimited 1gbps if that of interest to the users here
The only thing I need from the new Unified package is to be nested virtualization. Can it be enable or not? Thx!
Until when will this offer be available? And are the cores dedicated (can I do 100% 24/7 using plex for example)?
Thank you
Is Xen worth keeping? You're probably right, I wouldn't see the inefficiency issues. But statistically speaking, the nvme disks in that yabs test was performing like a SAS SSD would.
Plus the way OS installers see the nvme storage as 64GB blocks (that I need to create a LVM and make it one volume) really threw me off when I manually reinstalled Debian (sorry I don't trust templates, it's just how I roll).
Hyper-V is just as bad with storage performance too.
Unfortunately we did a test and there is exceptions in the hypervisor
we are debugging but so far nested virtualizationdoes not work
till quantity last
so within 3 weeks i think we will have stock for sure
after that it depend on how many orders we will get or if we will reorder new hardware
For Windows Server OS, Hyper-V and KVM virtualizations are better than Xen
Hyper-V and xcp have very similar storage stack , so i wouldnt be surprised if it perform the same
it is the other tools and stability that sell it for us
we have some vms up for years with zero issues
So the disk performance was in the past not that big of the deal before the the new generations of nvme so we were ok with it as the diff was like 20% in performance
now with many NVMe reaching more than 1M IOPS this issue started to be big issue and we need to fix it or even switch to KVM for nvme based vms
@churongcon
if you install windows yourself make sure to install xcp tools
ask the team to mount the iso there
it will give you better driver for network and disk
you will see the diff
Thanks
@servarica_hani was fantastic to talk with and explained the Greyhound servers physically cannot handle that drive count. However, in another 2 months approximately there will be another round of new servers so stay tuned.
anyone got disk IO benchmark on SAN disk ? IOPS limit/expectation ?
If you do switch to kvm based solutions (e.g proxmox) I would love to be a beta tester
Give me half an hour. Just on my way home.
hard check on ordering IP/address.... it's a NO for Canada location for me
@servarica_hani - so far very happy. A couple of little issues to iron out, but Sathish, Hari and Gokul have been absolutely superb helping me with two tickets, and now everything is working well. Good service, and you've got a good team.
Apologies, ended up making lunch.
Here's a 1Mib sequential write.
vps give us only Canada, is it possible to switch to another location?
Hello I dont install by myself. I choose Windows 2022 when bought from website
@servarica_hani Unable to purchase due to credit card and physical location not the same. I'm now on an overseas trip and will not be back until 2 weeks later. Any way to resolve this? Support not responding.
Support manually reversed the order cancellation and the payment went through. Good service!
i use it from Europe, and its fine.. u are developing games? lag is around 100-110ms
nice offer
cancelled my order due to loc/IP... no, not for gaming
