  • my order #4775983991

    please add double bandwidth, thanks.

  • YAY, I have been approved! Hi all, been lurking here for the past few hours!

Found out about RN on twitch about a week ago and bought a 2 gig (#9094384454) as part of the 11.11 deal, thinking it was like a month long BF… I was wrong lol
Would have gone with the 2.5 gig instead, lol.

Bought a smaller one though recently ( # 3832922751 for that BW upgrade), and I have a few questions… Why is the Rocky custom image the way it is? It's on 9.0 (9.5 latest) with SELinux disabled out of the box?

Thanks for the double bandwidth btw!

  • So, would crowdsec be overkill for my VPS, debating between it and just fail2ban but im new to both

  • GO GO GO GO page 196 go go go go

  • page 200 soon , maybe more giveaways then

Im back, just need 10mins to get to pc
    It's cold outside ...

How cold? It's been dropping to the 50F here, so we sadly have to say goodbye to our pool. We just put in a brand new pool heater as the kiddos were in swim lessons, though now with it dropping down to 50F, it's hard to keep up. By the way, warming our pool one degree takes an hour, so you can imagine the constant battle when it gets this low in temp. On top of that, we say good bye to salt, it basically goes poof in this temp.

    it's arround 2-3C
next week should be around 10 and then back to 5-2
    C

waiting for ice... bought tires with spikes for my bicycle

Ngl I'm a little surprised I got there already. Had quite a bit of activity in this thread today.

Keep going. You can be in the top 5 if you can keep this up for the next few weeks.

I already see that I will not be able to keep it up in the top 6... Too many well known active players have appeared, and "I,ve got bills to pay" :D

Even more, on weekends I try to use screens as less as possible. Its family time.

You are #6 now. Don't worry about me, as I am not in this BF thread to do anything other than have a little fun.

Its not only you :) @TrK , @chitree , @DeadlyChemist are on my knees already :D Some days ago it was much easier to maintain top positions :)

im not trying, since dont have that much time

music is like 2MB/minute max Lets do some maths

    (60 * 24 * 30 ) number of minutes in a month * 2 = 86,400 MB or 86 GB max/month

@DeadlyChemist what do you run on your VPSs?

vps'? school projects, discord bots, teamspeak, bots for other people
    few websites/projects
for example i made a calendar that pulls image metadata (name) from my pics and makes events out of it, using keywords and stuff, it broke few months ago but yeah, you can also click on the days and see the food/recipe.
also my own api (but because my community is dying over the last 3 years, it does not get used)
on vps' with big storage i run small hhtp server (for status) and the files are beeing acessed via sftp
and i keep few to just reset/experiment with
and one VPS (windows) i use daily for hours, including now to write the post, it's basically my main computer

    as for my home server:

as you see, i cant move any from those big ones to a VPS sadly

  • audio is very small really difficulty is in video which is like 2-3GB/hour something

  • OMG!!! RACKNERD'S BLACK FRIDAY IS LIVE, GO HERE: https://www.racknerd.com/BlackFriday/ 💯

  • My first vps I ever bought was just to escape CGNAT and get a public IP when I first started homelabbing, and used em for a good year or two, glad I learned about rack nerd, so much cheaper!
